Getting Motivated After Back Surgery
 

Hey chicks,

Need some advice. I had back surgery on 10/7 (outpatient, microsurgery - microdiscectomy) and just got my clearance from the doctor yesterday, so I can begin working out again (in moderation). I'm thrilled that I'm able to work out again, but I'm still finding it hard to get motivated. I wasn't able to work out (other than physical therapy and walking), so I became depressed and began eating whatever I wanted.

As you can imagine, I put on a few pounds (5 the last time I weighed myself). Before this all happened, I was supermotivated and worked out so much, both with a trainer and on my own (ran 3 miles multiple times a week).

I'm not sure if I'm nervous to go back with the fear of hurting myself again, or if I'm just out of my routine of going to the gym so often. Has anyone else had something similar happen to them? What did you do to overcome it??
