Halloween Pact

:ghost: :haphal:

I know I've seen a few of these around here, but thought that since it was officially October we could start a Halloween Pact thread.

I, freespirit, will abstain from eating any Halloween candy this year. Just because it comes in a cute little size with bats and pumpkins on the wrapper does NOT mean it tastes any different. It is NOT special. I CANNOT have just one. It is all crap and not worth my money or the effort it takes to open the wrapper, and my body doesn't deserve to be filled with that.

However, I will allow myself to enjoy healthy homemade pumpkin soup, or steamed root vegetables, or warm baked apples with a sprinkle of cinnamon because I DESERVE healthy, in season, yummy food.

Who's with me? :spid: :sklol:

Oh, I need a pact!!

I cherbear, will track EVERYTHING. I will not allow myself to grab a handfull of cereal or a fingerfull of peanut butter and not count it. It ALL counts!

Me, me, me!!! I have 4 young kids and I know they will get more than their fair share!! Must stay strong!

stacygee 10-01-2010 02:08 PM

I am totally there! I will let the kids keep a little bit and will be donating the rest of their candy to my doctors office. Of course I'll have to do that while they are at school!

I CAN NOT EVER HAVE JUST ONE!!!

I am in. No Halloween candy!

I am in. Thanks, FreeSpirit, for starting this pact/thread. Something about it is so appealing to me. The thought of it just made me feel some sense of relaxation. Like that once I agreed I could calm down, because the decision has been made now. No Halloween junk. I envision the topic coming up when the junk is all over the place and quickly remembering, oh yeah, I'm not doing any of that this year. It's already been decided. :)

I am in! No halloween candy for me. Luckily I'll be out of the country on halloween and the two weeks before, which should make it easier.

for those with children: have you heard of the hallow'een fairy? She comes the night of hallow'een, takes the candy in exchange for a gift. The night of hallow'een my guys taste whatever they want from their haul and then pick 5 things they really like to keep. The rest goes...

Great idea!

I will NOT eat any Halloween candy this year.

So far so good! :)
