Default Made it through pizza and cake now it's pot luck time

It was someones bday at work today, I resisted the pizza AND cake, honestly they looked gross anyway, and had my preplanned lunch and snack. Now I'm about to walk into a pot luck meeting for a cancer charity thing I'm doing. I brought a veggie plate, but my goal is to eat nothing and go home for my preplanned dinner.

Wow, that's impressive! For me, resisting bad cake and bad pizza is hard....those scents bring up bad behaviors. You must feel so good about sticking to your preplanned lunch! I hope you do great at this potluck. It's like New York....if you can make it there...you can make it anywhere!

Oh come on. You've done this dozens of times, maybe more. I'm not worried about you. You know darn well how to navigate this kind of thing. You're not blowing it on some mediocre fair. Nope, I'm not concerned....

^ thanks robin! Yep, I was flawless! All the food at the pot luck looked horrible. So I chewed my gum and ate my planned dinner when I got home. Mission accomplished!

That's so inspiring! In 2007, I had an office job at a museum. People/Donors were always sending over food, which just sat on the counter. There were always dinners. I had never been exposed to such an experience. I think I gained 40lbs in a 1/2 year! Well, now I know!

The huge problem many of us face is that we are almost 'force fed', there is SO much unnecessary food just floating around our lives. Eating to be social.... drinking to be social....

In reality, we can talk and laugh just the same, without the food and drink in hand.

On another note, I just wanted to say your integrity and weight loss, along with your big, happy smile in the photo are quite inspiring! You really turned your life around and it shows in your photo.
