The last 10 lbs are really fighting me!

I started my lifestyle change on jan 1 2010 at 204 lbs. I am down to 169 and my goal is 160 but it feels like the last few wont budge for the life of me! Any advise????

You could try to reduce your intake a little bit or dial up the exercise. When my weight loss slowed down noticeably, I cut from 1500 to 1400 calories, which helped. Some people say that "changing things up" in some way (cycling calories or varying your exercise routine) is a way to jump-start things.

Or you could keep doing what you're doing, realizing that smaller changes make a bigger difference when you're at a lower weight.

Either way, it seems like you're doing great.

I really like high intensity interval training. I really mix things up in the gym. I drink tons of water. I may do come cycling of calories too. If you can afford it, you may try a personal trainer and tell them your situation. They can push you further than you may push yourself. Are you eating whole foods or mostly processed? Maybe you could increase protein a bit? It's hard to know what to do since you didn't mention what you're doing. I'm sure you'll figure it out....sometimes, it can just take as long to lose the last 10 pounds as the first 30 or so. Hang in there! You can do it!

What's your current plan look like, kinda hard to say what you should change without knowing what you're doing now.

Yeah, what are you doing now?

I hit a certain point calorie counting and then I had to drop carbs to get through the wall. I'm losing quickly again and am happy about that :).

I'm there now myself. These pounds are fighting me. I hovered within two pounds up and down from 168 for two months! I recently dropped my calories and the weight is flying off again at three pounds last week and one already this week. That's amazingly fast for me anymore. I was quite surprised by how much calorie creep I had going on.

unfortunately, alot of women make the mistake of upping their exercise and lowering the calories even more when they are stuck on those last few pounds...this perpetuates a viscious cycle for some, resulting in endless wheel spinning, with little to know results...
my suggestion, and the *only* thing that worked for me?----- drop your cals as low as you can go (within reason---1200?1300? whatever) and cut OUT the heavy training. Focus on NEAT. do a lot of walking. No heavy lifting, no HIIT, nothing thats going to cause your body to stress out more and fight even harder to hold onto those pounds. I was stuck for OVER a year..... kept trying to train more, train harder, eat less..... the consequences of which i am still dealing with to this day. As soon as i cut out the exercise and focused really intently on my diet, those last pounds came off within a month.
Thats MY advice...youll note its prob very different from what otehrs suggest. But as its said all over these boards, we are ALL experiments of one!

ETA:
thats actually not entirely true..i DID continue to strength train...very low intensity, body-part splits (no full-body) straight sets(no supersets) for the sole purpose of preserving muscle mass, bacause my body fat was already so low.
