Been a rough month fell of plan.. :( gained it all back and then some.

  • The title says it all.. we had a series of bad events here.. our washer decided it didnt want to work anymore and flooded our bathroom quite a few times before we knew that was wrong, THEN we had to redo the bathroom to get rid of the wet stuff.

Then the septic had to be dug out to find the clog... sorry I am whining now..

Now I want to get back to work on me. I have gained the 8 pounds I had lost before all this plus an extra 6 .. Im sad over it.. its a horrible circle, I realize I am gaining. I get sad I eat... and that is how it has been the last few weeks I am a emotional eater..

and now I want to get back to my daily 4 mile bike ride.. its really the only exercise I have found that is easy on my knee's I have had surgery on BOTH in the last ten years the most recent was in March and the surgery failed

I cant get my 9 year old on a two wheeler to go with me I thought of a tag along for it but I am alredy pulling DS3 in the trailer.. any help with this deliema and her bike is apreciated

    /rant.
  • I don't know if I understand the problem. Your 9 year old can't or won't ride with you? Can you ride when she is at school or get a sitter for an hour?
  • I guess I should have said it better.. she wont ride even to go down to the mailbox, or around the block. She's scared of falling.. I dont know what to do there.

As for doing it while she is at school, that is what I was trying to do...I wish I had folks around to help, alll I have is my in-laws and they work all day. I have no friends here outside of DH and his folks..

I guess I needed to get it off my chest
  • Can you go in the evening when your husband is home? Or can you pick a form of exercise that can incorporate your kids, like going to the playground and jogging around while watching them?
  • No offense, but you're making excuses. You know you can fit it more exercise and eat better. It's about prioritizing and planning. "Get back to my daily 4 mile bike ride" indicates you used to fit it in somehow. So fit it in again! You know what you need to do. Find a way of coping emotionally that doesn't involve food so it doesn't throw you off track. Sounds like if you can get the biking going again, that'll help with the coping.

14 pounds in a month is a lot of weight. That's not just slightly slipping. Do you track calories? If so, don't let yourself stop. When you realize you really did eat 3000 calories in one day, it's a lot harder to keep doing so.

Most importantly, don't let one bad month turn in to 2 or 3 or a year. It's never too early to get back on track!
