Sigh
I decided to have some alcohol two weeks ago on a weekend. I didn't go past my maintenance calories, but alcohol DOES make me bloat.
So, of course, the next day I am like a baloon and I magically gained 10lbs on the scale. No sweat, I keep on my plan and it usually comes off in a few days if I guzzle extra water on top of it. Well, NO. It's been two weeks and I did shed 4lbs but there is still 6lbs extra. I am going back and forth between 210,211 and 212 -but mostly 212. What the heck?? I am trying so hard to get to wonderland that this is heartbreaking. I took my measurements twice since then (once a week) and I lost a bunch of inches on week one and lost some on my arm but went up a couple on other places on week two. I KNOW.. know! There is no way this can be fat. I've been sticking on my plan like glue and going to the gym 3-4 times a week. Can someone please give me some reassurance? Has anyone gone through this before? I've had water weight fall off plenty of times before but it's just not happening and I am scared more than you can imagine. |
I've had that happen to me before with about 6 lbs of gain. It kinda really sucks.
The weight WILL come off. Just keep eating right, exercising regularly, drinking lots of water, and do things that make you feel better. Go to a movie, visit a friend, go to a park, anything. Take your mind off if it for a little while. Whenever I'm in a weight rut like that, sometimes I'll take a break from weighing myself for a while. I'm a daily weigher (I like to track my fluctuations - helps me understand my body better), so sometimes I'll cut down to one day a week and that usually helps. Think of it this way, if it helps: Even if your weight doesn't budge for a few weeks (which is common at times), at least it's not going UP. Also, if you keep having problems for quite some time, try varying your calorie intake (up and/or down) and/or varying your workout (longer or more intense or something). That usually helps me get moving on the scale again. Sometimes our bodies are stubborn like that. Just keep up with the healthy habits and it should hopefully get sorted out pretty quick. Good luck! |

No worries. Everyone has their off days.
But try to remember, its not always fat you're weighing. Muscle weighs more, and that might be a factor. You've lost inches in some places which is good. So stay positive and think of the muscle you're gaining over the fat you're losing. (^-^) |
I hope I can come back to this thread soon and tell you guys that it's coming back off!
I am crossing my fingers. I think I just need to gain more patience. I'm terrible for wanting this in a certain amount of time. I just feel devestated that my ticker says 205 and it's not really true right now. :( |
