Scale's

Hey there :) Would any of you be able to suggest a good scale to buy at Walmart or Target? The one I have is over 5 years old and I think it's about ready to be thrown out!!! It gives me such inaccurate readings! For example, on Wednesday I was 255.8 and Today it says I am 259.6. I step on it again 30 seconds later and it reads 258.2, I do it once more and it reads 261.0. Ugh it's very frustrating! I know I am losing weight, but this thing is not helping with the motivation!! Today is my weigh in day but I did not take note of my weight because I can not trust my scale. Anyway Thank You in advance for any suggestions!!! ( I live in Georgia,USA btw ;) )

I've got the weight watchers scale from walmart. It seems to do pretty good. I've went to the doctor and got weighed and came home and it said the same thing. So maybe give it a try.

are you going to a gym? I just use the scale at the Y. I have a cheap one, but it seems to do ok as long as you zero it out every time (step on it real quick to make the needle bounce a little, put it on zero, step on it real quick again, and make sure it rests on zero) and make sure it's in the same spot on the floor. My house may have uneven floors!

Also, the title of your thread should just be Scales. 's is possessive. :) Nitpicky, I know, but nothing here belongs to the scale, for sure not any of us :)

Target has some nice scales that are cheap- I paid less than $20 for the one I have- it's digital but only weighs in 0.5 lb increments- but it's good enough for me! :) I think it's actually pretty accurate because everytime I go to the doctor it's exactly 2 lbs off. I think the doctor weighs heavier cuz I'm wearing clothes though.

IDK what I have.. It is a digital one that weights to the nearest 0.2 lbs. I know I bought it at Wal-Fart a hundred years ago. I used to have one with the dial and it was WAY too easy for me to lean a little and get the needle to move one way or the other.

My scale is a Taylor. I believe wal-mart sells that brand. It hasn't let me down yet. It has the feature that a lot of scales have now. It remembers the last weigh in and if your new number is not at least .5 more, it will show the last reading. That avoids the "three different readings in three seconds" that you see with some scales. The only problem is if you want to see those small fluctuations, you have to reset between weigh ins by resting your foot on it or weighing something light before you step on. It kind of clears the memory for what you weighed last time :)

Word to the wise, even after you get a new scale, step on it once and be done with it. You'll drive yourself nuts otherwise. Also, daily fluctuations up and down are totally normal.
