  • Anyone care to share some low calorie drinks? I know that I try not to drink much but this weekend I KNOW I'll be drinking. I want to watch my calories. Please feel free to share, thanks!
  • Rum & diet coke

    Or is this at home?

Raspberry crystal light with vodka (I use raspberry flavoured Smirnoff vodka)
  • I keep thinking I will try that new 64 calorie Miller Genuine Draft. But I haven't tried it yet...so can't tell you much about it.
  • I choose to stick with light beer - can't go wrong with light beer. Specifically, I choose Corona Light with a lime (no scurvy here!!!)
  • Wine is surprisingly low in calories, about 100 cals for 4 oz. I was pleasantly surprised to learn this! I splurged and bought a bottle of wine, had two glasses, and reluctantly went to log it on sparkpeople.com. When it showed the info, I thought it had to be wrong, so I checked it numerous other places as well. It really is about 100 calories!
  • Yeah, alcohol is not the diet breaker that people think it is. A beer has about 150 calories, which is about the same as a diet dessert.

When I go out, I have beer or wine and skip the dessert. Of course, alcohol can make food seem more tempting. That's where the danger lies.
  • My sister has been drinking flavored vodka in flavored Seltzer. It is a bit of a kick to the face to me, so I have to add a splash of juice. Really, anything you can cut with seltzer is going to cut back on calories. (Add it to wine for a wine spritzer)
  • We have a "light" margarita mix but I just drink 2 shots of patron'. I get pretty tilted at 140 calories. I don't drink often but when I do it's only two drinks.
  • Try to stay away from "dark" liqours and favor the light ones. Think malibu, bicardi, vodka. And if you happen to drink soda, make it diet. I LOVE malibu baybreezes (malibu, cranberry juice and orange juice). They get you tipsy and don't kill your diet. If you drink beer, keep it light. I always drink bud light, or try to drink the low calorie ones if people carry them.

I also like the lite corona!

I hear you but this weekend is going to be one of those weekends where ONE drink will not do it for me lol I'd like to feel it if you know what I mean
  • These are some good ones please keep them coming!!!!
  • My favorite is vodka with seltzer and squeeze in a quarter grapefruit or orange slice... so yummy. It takes some planning though, this is what I drink when I am home because I don't drink juice..
  • At home I like gin and diet tonic (with a twist of lime) but I don't think bars or normal people have diet tonic.

Rum and diet coke is always good, and with a squeeze of lime it's called a Cuba Libre. Yum!

Another is Stoli orange or Absolut Citron with soda and a squeeze of lime (like previous poster suggested).

With wine, just watch the portion. 4 oz is 100 calories but most wine glasses hold WAY more. Even halfway full you could be drinking more than 4 oz.

Google "skinny girl margarita" for that recipe -- and I think a lot of bars are making these now. May be the best thing to come out of the "Real Housewives" shows!

One great thing about all this calorie-counting I've been doing -- I've cut back so much on drinking, that now when I do indulge, it doesn't take much to get me
  • Here is my drink for the summer:
Vodka (plain or any citrus flavor)
    Club soda
    Splash of Cranberry juice
    Slice of lime
    ice
(For at home I froze cranberry juice in an ice tray and just pop a cube in my drink)
Very light, very refreshing - I love it!
