I'm in!
I love things like this!
Oh and Wysteria I'm in the same boat as you as far as pasta & breads. I need to avoid them. My family has a history of insulin resistance and I've found I always lose more weight when I cut down on the carbs. So that is going to be a continued focus of mine into July.
This is big and really, really, really super scary to post because in the past I've put up goals and then when I didn't achieve them got really and down.
It's so much harder for me to lose weight so I'm going to try to set a realistic goal for myself for the month of July, but I hope I lose more because I would need to so I can reach my end of summer goal. It's a big goal! Like huge! I am just trying to stay positive and think I can rather then do what I normally do and even though I try really hard to think I can I just don't do it. This time I'm trying to tell msyelf to just do it! Just get up, work harder, and do it!
So here is my July goal for all to see:
Before the end of July weigh 5.2 pounds lighter and be at 179.8! I still have not worked off my Christmas weight.
I'd feel awesome if I can get to 177! So I'm goign to focus on 177 but if I don't make that goal I'll still be happy if I make it at or below 179.8.
Thanks to all of you for the support and just telling your stories! Reading about what everyone is doing really helps!

Hi Ladies today is much better, maybe because I wasn't home most of the day works for me.
Breakfast (190)
Slim Fast only, ... had to take my van in. My brakes were almost gone, needed new rotors
Snack (150)
Yogurt and an apple
Lunch (317) very late lunch not until 3pm
3oz chicken breast on a deli thin, lettuce and 1/2 can vegetable soup, I added a cup of low sodium V8 it was very good
Afternoon snack (120)
2 cups of red grapes
Dinner (396)
salmon, L/C cheddar broccoli & potatoes, 1/2 cup extra broccoli, 3/4 banana (1/4 rotten)
only 1053 I'm leaving for my walk maybe I'll have some fruit when I get back
Does anybody know for sure how many calories are in grapes, I have found 60 or 110, which one is right? I have always used the 60
OK, came home had an apple with some Cool Whip, umm good additional 85 calories wanted more but didn't dare, it was too late. So calories today 1138

love, I use 60 as well.
I have a question for the sushi fans in here. My friend and I are going to eat it for dinner tomorrow night and my favorite roll (shrimp tempura) has way too many calories, of course. I was wondering what kinds you all like to get and if you know the calorie count of them? I was looking online and found a few, but I wondered if anyone knew of any other resources because there's a million different kinds of sushi! Thanks!

fashinjunkie09: My favorite kind of sushi of all time is raw tuna. Only about 25 calories per piece, if there's nothing in it but nori, rice, and tuna.
Food for the day!
Today was really hard for me because I was spending it with friends who are both 17 year old boys, and they can eat ANYTHING. I went a little off plan at dinner, but I'm proud to say that even thought I wanted to eat a ton more after that, I didn't. I'm currently curled up in bed with a diet coke, feeling a little deprived, but still on plan.
1 yoghurt- 110 calories
1 small movie theater popcorn-500ish calories (best guesstimation given info I found on the web- if you know better, please tell)
Fried rice with peas and chicken- I'm going to say probably no more than 500, because it was cooked by someone trying to lose weight herself and I had a pretty small amount
Biscotti- 150
So, all in all, 1260 calories. Yeah, yeah, 60 over. Still, surprisingly good. And tomorrow's a 1500 calorie day. I can make it up then.
One more upsetting thing, though: I had been pretty depressed most of the summer. A couple of days ago I started snapping out of it, and all of a sudden I find I'm hungry when I didn't care what I ate before. I like feeling better, but I do not like the hunger. Grr. >

Hi everyone!
I'm new here, so bear with me as I find my way around the forum...
I just started my personal lifestyle change last week, and I realized how easy it is to slip when I'm not 100% prepared for what life throws at me... so maybe this accountability thread can help? I hope so!
I'm trying to eat Low GI / clean (so no counting calories), but I definitely was not quite on plan today:
Breakfast:
Vitamin D capsule (forgot about my multivitamin!)
milk, skim, 1 cup
oatmeal, 1/2 cup
flaxseed, 1 Tbsp
blueberries and strawberries, 1 cup
Snack:
12 almonds
Lunch:
2 c lentil vegetable soup
Snack:
1 small Godiva dark chocolate bar with raspberry flavor
1 package dark chocolate raspberry truffles
Dinner:
2 c lettuce
1 lg chicken breast, grilled
2 Tbsp salad dressing
Snack:
2 c sf ff frozen yogurt with chocolate and raspberries
So looking at this... I need to lay off the high GI snacks.
What made me feel like I need to eat all of this? I was frustrated with work, and not motivated to work on my research (I'm a grad student), so I went for a quick shopping trip, and I *accidentally* shopped for the wrong things
Note to self: bring a fiction book to work, so that I can distract myself from future situations like this.
Other goals for this week: get at least two servings of dairy a day.
I hope everyone else had a more successful Friday

7-1 oh another month. Ok today's weight 184.4. I'll take it.
I went a little crazy on the frozen coffee drinks I make myself--but i was for the most part on plan today.
7-2 185.8 blah! really? water bloat? or what???
Don't feel good.--feel like a sore throat/sinus infection coming on.
4 hours shopping/walking.
2 hours cleaning.
DID not stay on plan, but only ate 1630 cs. i ate most of my calories at night.
7-3--dare I try to be good? wt 186.2 Come on Really??? i am guessing all of the pizza is just sitting in my tummy.
Today, i am going to try to stick to the plan, that way i won't overeat, yesterday, i was so busy and DIDN'T eat during the day. That had to affect something.

Slimfast - 180
So far so good, but I feel hungry and it's only been 2 hours. Fighting hard to drink only water. And motivation for exercise is nill. Poop.

Hi Tabathana, have you tried the Slim Fast snack bars? They are pretty good, also the Special K bars. (inside the Slim Fast box *printed* are coupons for meal and snack bars). When I have a Slim Fast I eat a piece of fruit, cup of grapes something because I am the same way. I am hungry in two hours, but I eat every 3 hours for the most part, 7, 10, 1, 4, 7. Then I walk 2 miles or more. Hope this helps a little. Have a great weekend.

I will only eat broccoli, carrots, peas, sweetcorn and cauliflower, and for fruit I will only eat apples, grapes and at a push raspberries and strawberries. Ugh. Still working on this!

LOL Wysteria, I'm happy to know I'm not the only picky eater here. I like apples, grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, plums (I have to peel them), peaches and pears but only in a container not fresh unless I peel it.
Veggies, cabbage, broccoli (steamed), green beans, carrots must be cooked or it takes me forever to eat it, yuk. Spinach I just started eating and it's not as bad as I thought. I've actually gotten pretty creative with what I put it in. I like potatoes and corn also but they aren't really good for you? Are they? I like most things that go in salads. My problem is I have to peel most things to eat them and most of the nutrients are in the peels. Wow now that I'm typing this I guess I have grown up more in my 40's than I thought. I love this thread, thanks Diana it is such an eye opener.

You know, my Husband has something. It started off at the beginning of the week. I thought it was allergies, but after the last couple of days, I think he has a cold. There must be something going around. I hope you feel better.
