Hiya Chickies!

Hee, hee. I was excited to see all the replies this morning AND, OMG, Sweetpea, it's nice to see you here! Shhh... don't tell these gals I credit my successful weight loss this time to them; I don't want their heads to inflate!:joker: Just kidding! I tell them what a great support they are all the time!

Shells... Good to see you back! Sounds like you had a good time Saturday! Bah... isn't it ANNOYING when you make a great big post and it disappears?! :fr:

Michelle... I ran out to my mailbox this afternoon and guess what? No package yet. :( I'm sure it'll be here tomorrow or Wednesday; I'm just so darn impatient!

Mel... Woohoo! Two more pounds down is FANTASTIC! Keep at it and before you know you'll have lost another 20!

J-Ann... Woohoo to you too! Sounds like you're ready to re-committ afresh! You've already come so far so you definitely have what it takes! Are you going to make use of the new journal feature here?

Tonight I have another evening training session with the sexual assault support center. Last week I met a woman there who is on maintainance with WW. She only had to lose 30 pounds but still... it's good! She definitely reccommends WW to ANYONE looking to lose weight. It makes me more excited to get my WW info from Michelle! I don't think I'll follow the plan exactly right now BUT I definitely will incorporate some of it into my diet plan!

TTFN
Sara :)

Hey...

What's up?

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood! I LOVE this time of year! Outdoors weather. I WILL get to the weeding that I ignored yesterday. Gotta clean out the flower beds and make way for some mums.

I've been doing pretty well lately...I say pretty well cuz there's a cookie monster that dwells within me, and you never know when he's gonna strike! I need to follow 2cute's example and chuck any and all goodies lurking in my pantry. Then I listen to the kids moan, "You NEVER buy anything good!" (Yeah, cuz I'll eat it!) So far, today, I'm working on 8 points...that's since midnight last night. O' course I slept about 6 hours after I got home from work. I have oatmeal at work around 5am...it fills me up, warms me up and tides me over til I wake up in the afternoon. Concord grape juice and a pear and a cup of green tea are all I've had since waking up...still pondering lunch choices...

Michelle, Thanks for the great ideas! I can't wait to try the crescent roll thingy! :T All this talk about salmon, I'm gonna have to pull some out of the freezer. I have baked it with a glaze of honey and soy sauce...combine about 1 T honey and 1 or 2 T soy in a bowl, drizzle over fish and bake...yum!

2cute... congrats on the renewed resolve! We ARE an inspirational group aren't we?

Uh oh...family is starting to move in and annoy me...everyone wants their turn on the computer! Like I've been here all day! Oh well, time to get my booty movin' anyway...

I'LL BE BACK....

Just bringing Sweetpea's post over from page 3 of the last thread

Sweetpea said,

Thanks for the welcome Shells. To answer your question..no I am not married, no kids, no pets, no sex life. I am 45 and am determined to lose this 122 lbs before I turn 47!!! I am ready to have a life w/o worrying about what people think of me and my fat...trying to shop for big clothes and then worrying about how they really look on me...or worse yet, dying and people walking by my coffin and saying "oh the poor thing, if only she'd taken better care of herself."

I started walking last week. Didn't get far but will work up...slow and steady for now. I have an exercise bike but the seat sets too high and makes for a very uncomfortable ride. I have to find someone to drill another hole so I can lower it.

Well, back to my laundry and dishes. :::sigh

MichelleK 09-30-2002 03:32 PM

Oh crud! I just typed a longish post and I hit something and it disappeared...don't you just have that when that happens?

Here is a 1 pt. chocolate cheesecake recipe from WW

Ingredients
10 piece(s) chocolate wafer(s), crumbled
1 1/2 cup(s) fat-free cottage cheese
1/4 cup(s) unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup(s) sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 medium egg white(s)
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup(s) lite whipped topping
Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Coat 12 muffin cups with cooking spray; divide wafer crumbs among cups.
2. Cream cottage cheese in a food processor until fluffy, about 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients, except whipped topping, and process until smooth, about 30 seconds more. If you do not have a food processor, this can be done with an electric mixer although the final product will not be as smooth and creamy.
3. Divide batter among muffin cups. Bake until firm, about 20 minutes; cool completely. Trace each muffin cup with a knife to loosen cheesecakes, remove from muffin cups and garnish each with 2 teaspoons of whipped topping. Yields one 3-inch cheesecake per serving.

Can you believe it  it's 81 here :hot:.....remember it was 28 last week!!!!

So I got my TOM AND my sinus are acting up over this weather being crazy...not in the mood to exercise. I might just do some weights tonight and rest.

When do you all exercise? I was thinking of making myself do it as soon as I get home - or no posting here - as an incentive. I will think on that while resting....

Malia, have fun, take pictures, keep your eyes out for hunks and think of us....we will be thinking of you. Dance whenever you can!!!!! I have always loved "dance as thou no one is watching"....oh, to feel so free.

You all sound so good...it inspires me.....

Welcome sweetpea
Hello all

2cute2Bfat 10-01-2002 12:54 AM

Hidey HO Neighbors. !!!!

I have good news today and not so good.
Good... I have stayed on program all day. And it is due to the fact I threw all that food away down the garbage disposal. I paced like a wild animal a few times... but I stuck to program. I even went to the movies to see"Sweet Home Alabama" and I did NOT get popcorn or a diet pop. :D Unfortunately... I was soooo tired... I felll asleep several times. I think a couple was laughing at me when I woke up. :o I am sure I was snoring. :o
It was a cute movie... I was just exhausted from the weekend and stress and I ran errands all day and got HOT. I will have to go see it again. Luckily I only had to pay $2. LOL

The bad news is... they had to call an ambulance and take my mom to the hospital today. I am headed back to Missouri first thing Tuesday morning. Well about fifth thing... LOL ... I have some errands I cannot postpone. My sister said mom looks better already... but she has no memory of the reunion. She was not well during it... we all told her to go to the hospital but she refused. Well.. now she is there.

Soooo ... I will be gone for a few days AGAIN. Trust me... I am tired of running. But... I am grateful for the health to be able to do it. Keep going strong ladies. I will return.

MichelleK 10-01-2002 07:03 AM

Just a quickie for Baylee before I forget again....the low carb pasta is Due Amici Pasta Lite. It has 80% less carbs. It is distributed by Orlando Food Corporation in Maywood NJ 07607.

TTFN gotta run to work! Michelle

j-ann 10-01-2002 07:26 AM

Mornin'

Ladies I need your HELP.

I'm back to letting myself eat everything in sight. My journal is a mess already. I've had not 1 but 2 donuts already this morning. They are gone now. I am going to try to stop right now. I know I'm going to have to give up coffee tho. It's definitely a trigger for me. I realize I can't drink the stuff unless I have something (donut, toast, muffin) with it. I don't eat with tea so I'm going to try that route.

2CUTE: I want to see Sweet Home Alabama too. Sounds like you're handling your Mom's illness well. Good Luck.

LUCKY: It's supposed to be 87 here today. we too had frost last week. :?:

MICHELLE: Hope you really enjoy your new ISP. I'm going to be computer shopping soon. My employer has offered us broadband for a super rate but we have to sign up before mid Dec. Looks like I may really have to part with my WebTV at home and join the "real world".

Welcome SWEETPEA. Hello to everyone else.

Grannie39074 10-01-2002 07:47 AM

Hello Dear Chickies:wave:
Sorry I have been absent lately. Work is so hectic and so is home life:fr:
Diet is not great. I want to eat all the time.

I did go see my friend Sun. The one that almost died. She is better but still not back to normal.

Boy we have lots of new people here. Welcome to all of you.
I will try to stay op today but I won't promise:(

I have a DAR meeting today too.

Hope all of you have a great day and I'll try to check in later.
here is a hug for all of you.I know I sure do need one:grouphug:

LuckyLadyBug 10-01-2002 08:14 AM

Mary, thanks for the hug...I needed it and here is one back at you :grouphug:

I must confess :sorry: that I broke my vow to exersize... I was so tired last night I posted here, read through some mail, and went to bed at 8:30.

I might have burnout, according to my Simple Abudance lesson today. I have to change the way I do things from day to day. I plan too much and non of it is nurturing to myself. I always want everything "done" before I take care of me. As I type this I can see why I never exercise or plan my food not to mention nurture myself in other ways. Another thing to think about today....

Hope you all have a good day!!!! See ya later.

j-ann 10-01-2002 11:01 AM

OK, Baylee and all. I think I found a trigger that I didn't know I was using. I'm not a big coffee drinker. I have a cup in the AM with breakfast. Then if there are goodies at work I go for another cup to wash down the :nono:'s I JUST REALIZED that I CAN'T just drink coffee. I have to put something in my mouth along with it .... bagel, toast, donut, cookie. Then I just keep eating from then on. Get the picture??
:spin:

So I'm tossing my mug and getting a pretty TEACUP to keep at work. Tonight I'll get rid of the instant coffee I keep at home. (See, I'm not a coffee conniseur (sp?)!) I think this will help . I love tea but don't HAVE TO eat when I drink it.

Hope this works. I'll keep ya'll posted.

shells03840 10-01-2002 01:51 PM

Hi Sweetpea

Hey again Sweetpea:wave:

I felt bad when I read your post. I sure know how you feel, though. I hate being so caught up in this weight issue. My every waking moment is consumed with the fact that I do not like the way that I look. And I understand the clothing issue, too. It can be really discouraging at times!

Good job on getting a walk in the other night. That is ok if you didn't go far. You will work up to that!!! Were you able to get out last night or yesterday for a walk? That would be good if you can someone to adjust your exercise bike seat. Maybe you could do the bike while you watch tv or something. Sometimes that helps if you get bored!

Hang in there, Sweetpea!! We all know how you feel! Take it one day at a time:)

Hugs!

Michelle:flow2:

shells03840 10-01-2002 02:05 PM

How is everyone doing today?

Hi All:wave:

Just checking in to see how everyone's day is going so far. I got my exercise in, so I was good in that regard, but I ate half a bag of chips, so I guess that cancels out my efforts, LOL!!

MichelleK: I have cable access too and you are so right!! It is soooo much quicker!!!:cb: A couple of times, that service has been down and I have had to log on the "old fashioned" way, lol!! Geesh!! Talk about a long time!!! I am too impatient:s:

Lucky: I hope that you are feeling better today! In answer to your question about when everyone exercises, I am definitely a morning person. I have the most energy and I know if I put if off til afternoon, it simply will NOT get done! What do you do for weights?

2cute: Way to go on your willpower!!! That is great that you didn't give in to the popcorn urge. I would have cracked for sure. Love the movie theatre popcorn. I just adore Reese Witherspoon. She is too cute! LOL about falling asleep!!! Sorry to hear about your mom. Is is something serious?? I sure hope not!! Good luck with that!

j-ann: Those darn donuts will get you every time!!:donut: I hope you are doing better now:) Will it be tough for you to give up your morning coffee? I just gotta have my coffee!!

Grannie: So sorry to hear about your friend. I hope that everything gets better with her soon! I sure relate to the wanting to eat constantly. Grrrrrr.....

Baylee: As I have stated, you can count me in on the wanting to eat too much. I am glad that you have been inspired to break out of this, though! That is good!

Hope the rest of the week goes better for everyone! I am off to clean my office....gulp!!

Smiles,

Michelle:flow2:

SaraJoy 10-01-2002 02:40 PM

Hi Ladies!

Sweetpea... Ditto on Shell's comments; we all know all too well how you're feeling. It sounds, though, like you've come to a pretty firm conclusion; you want/need to lose the weight before you're 47. What it takes is a firm committment to your goal. You know what you need and you have to do WHATEVER it takes to reach it. Throw ANY junkie foods and ANY overly tempting foods that cause you to overeat away! (Yeah 2Cute!) Fill your fridge with fruits, vegetables, water bottles, sugar-free jellos, small portions of lean meats, etc. It's awesome you were walking the other day; make it a habit every night after dinner. AND, I know this is radical but's it's really helped me, get away from that TV... maybe cancel cable and use the $$ for a gym membership...or new clothes a size or two smaller... WHATEVER it takes!

J-Ann... It's good you recognised that coffee was a trigger for you! Now... stay away from it! If I was working in an office, I'd take 4 or 5-500 ml bottles of water (with lemon added) with me everyday and I'd keep them in the fridge and get one ANYTIME I felt like snacking. I already do that at home! J-ANN... You've already come so far. DON'T make this opportunity a time for looking back with an "if only"... IF ONLY I'd finished losing the weight then. IF ONLY I'd dieted then when I was so much closer to my goal. I KNOW I've said this a thousand times but this is my absolute favorite bit of dieting wisdom: "A year from now, you will wish you had started today!"

So... anyone else wanna me to lecture them from way up top of my high-horse?!

Baylee... It IS strange what triggers the little quirks in our brain, eh? I'm glad your friend inspired you to keep at it! It's definitely worth it!

Lucky... Ohh! Hope you get some time to nurture yourself tonight. Everybody needs to baby themselves and renew their spirit. Take time to realise what it is you want in this life and figure out exactly what you need to do to reach those goals.

Mary... Glad to hear your friend is doing better even if she isn't 100% yet. Hope your meeting went well!

Michelle... Sigh. Not today either! I'm hoping for tomorrow because I have the day off and I can pour over the material for hours if it arrives!

2Cute... Wow. Your life is really hectic right now. I wish I could do something for you... like lend you some of my sleep! I hope your mother is okay; keep us posted.

Shell... I'm SO glad you joined our little group. You already seem to fit in so well and you provide awesome support! If you ARE up for chatting in real time; lemme know. We could schedule a time to meet in the chat rooms. I'm home tomorrow during the day! (I'm NOT a morning person though!)

Okay, before I close this wordy chapter in my book, lemme just say this. I am 2 days late and slightly worried. Yikes... now that I say it, it's TOO real! Wish me luck ladies... I'm not ready to be a mother!

Sara :)

MichelleK 10-01-2002 03:16 PM

Oh but Sara....motherhood is the most awesome experience you will EVER have! I love it!! Its a feeling way to hard to describe! Awesome is only putting it mildly!! I'm really disappointed in the mail system! You should have had that by now! they said 2-7 days! Buggers! I am waiting impatiently for some of my school books to arrive! I ordered the rest yesterday via mail....so I know they won't come till late next week. I try to forget about the stuff then I am surprised when it actually does arrive!

I have to admit that I ate a mcdonald's cheeseburger and small fry today. I have to go add it to my journal and count the points. I am making that low carb spaghetti for dinner tonight. I'll let you know how it tastes! I put sauce and sausage in the crockpot this morning and it smells soooo good in here!

Well cutie patooties....I gotta run and do some laundry and pick up the toys...I'll be back to post to y'all later!!

TTFN Michelle

Good Day Lady's

I see were having a little trouble with the cookie monster, don't we all have bad time's of the month that the cravings are just unbearable. Don't get discourage!!!

Sara I just need to respond to you bein 2 days late, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, go out and get a test, at least it would ease your mind, and you won't keep us in such suspense. You know what, I don't think anyone's really ever ready to be a mom, it's a learning process, and you shouldn't have to worry about it, if you want to have kids, anytimes a good time. I always said I didn't want to have kids, and I got pregnant, and thought I wasn't ready, but your motherly insticts kick in, you do what you have to do and there's always a way to supply and get what your baby needs. When people tell me their waiting till their finiacially ready, I always say your never finacially ready but you'll always find a way to get what your baby needs. Just my thought's, hope everything works out the way you hope it to. I think you would be a wonderful mom.

I have the hugest craving for a chocolate bar right now, I don't know If I can resist, I'll have a bottle of water first and see if that chases the craving away.

Gotta Go, chow for now

Duckie25 10-01-2002 04:08 PM

Here's a link to an amazing lady's journal, some of you may have read it before, she post's every Saturday with her new weigh in and her weekly journal, this journal is the one that got me moving and losing back in January. She's my Hero,

Alison if your reading this hope you don't mind, me posting you link here.
Alisons Journal

j-ann 10-01-2002 04:14 PM

Sara, THANKS for the lecture. I do keep water at work and I drink it all. About 80 oz. during the day. I'm pulling myself away from my pity party and getting on with losing weight. So There! I must have missed somethng somewhere. Do you suspect your preggers? :) Get thee to a drug store and do a test. Inquiring minds want to know!

Ladies, I hope this isn't considered selling/advertising. I've found a wonderful, no ads, magazine about food and good health. It's called "Eating Well". Apparently it's been published before and has just come back to life. It's really neat. Great recipes and articles and discussions on what's right and wrong about the foods we eat. Comes out quarterly. Nope I don't work for them. :) They have a website too. I'll let you guess what the URL is.

Off to scrup the kitchen.

Duckie25 10-01-2002 06:06 PM

Where is everyone, I'm all yappy today and there's nobody out there to listen.!!!

Anyways just wanted to post and let you all know that the chocolate bar did not make it's way into my mouth, instead I opted for Strawberry Twizzlers, at 161 cal and .5 grams of fat, I think I made the right choice. I'm proud of myself.

shells03840 10-01-2002 06:13 PM

Hi Duckie...

Hey Duckie:dance:

You DID make a great choice!! Kudos to you for overcoming your chocolate temptation!! :chockiss: I, too, have been craving chocolate today--BIG TIME!!! Luckily, I don't have any in the house.

Good for you! All the small steps add up to BIG things!

Michelle:flow2:

shells03840 10-01-2002 06:20 PM

Sara.....

Hey Sara:flow1:

Thanks for your kind words. I wanted to say that I hope that things work out the way YOU would like them to in regard to any future children. IMHO, though, from what I have seen from you on these boards, which I know isn't a whole lot given that I haven't been here long, but you are very down to earth and caring and supportive. I think you will make a wonderful mom and you shouldn't worry about that!!! If that even IS your worry. :bb: Maybe your cycle is disrupted because of all your weight loss?? That can happen. Keeping my fingers crossed that it works out the way you would like. If not, then you will deal cuz you will have to:df:

Good luck!! Are you going to get a test?! Keep us posted!

Michelle:flow2:

SweetPeaOK 10-01-2002 06:23 PM

Hello...

Dinner is over and later I will have an apple. I had a very good eating day. I did not walk today as I got busy around the house as soon as I got up this morning. I'm sure I walked more than had I went for a walk. Tomorrow though I am out the door!!!

Duckie thanks for moving my post over. I am still new at this and have the CRS problem. :)

Sara thanks again for telling me about this place. I already feel like I am gettting the willpower I need just by reading everyone's post. I am determined to be fit and healthy!!

Sounds like we all have the same challenges...hmm, wonder if skinny people have issues??? :)

Toodles.....

shells03840 10-01-2002 06:23 PM

Sara...I forgot....

Hey again Sara:wave:

I forgot to answer you about chatting. I would love to chat. Let me know if you would like to get together in the chat tomorrow some time!

Anyone else game??

Have a good night!

Michelle:dancer:

MichelleK 10-01-2002 06:25 PM

Chocolate? I resisted chocolate today too! One of the girls in the office had a bowl of hershy kisses on her desk! She kept asking me if I wanted a kiss and I would say YEAH but not that kind!

My little baby boy is outside playing in the dirt and his daddy is a dud tonight and has gone to bed already! He is beat! All those hours at work have finally caught up to him. At least he has tomorrow off to rest!

Ok update on the Low Carb pasta...I have 3 pkgs here if anyone wants to try it! I have one spaghetti, one elbow mac and one twisty type...first come first serve just email me at mlkotula2comcast.net with your mailing address!

gotta go check on the boy!

shells03840 10-01-2002 06:27 PM

Sweetpea :)

Hi Sweetpea:)

Great to hear that your day was a good one in terms of eating!! That is just as important as the exercise:goodvibes

As for thin people having issues--yup. I have a few friends who are very very thin and they hate that just as much as I hate being overweight. Sometimes it is hard for me to feel sorry for them, LOL!!! Just kidding. One of them feels very self-conscious because she thinks her legs are skin and bones. So, I guess we all have our issues.

Keep a positive attitude and vow to get the exercise in in the morning:) You CAN do it!!! Tomorrow is a new day...

Nite!

Michelle:flow2:

shells03840 10-01-2002 06:29 PM

Michelle K...

Hey Michelle:wave:

Where do you find this low carb pasta? Sorry if you already said. Have you yourself tried it?? Did you like it?? Hmmmm......contemplating......

Have a good night!

Hi again Duckie

Duckie:

I read some of the journal that you put a link up for. Wow!!! She is one amazing lady. I haven't had time to read it in it's entirety, but from what I saw she did one heck of a job!!!

Thanks for telling us about this. It truly is inspirational:cb:

Nitey nite!

SaraJoy 10-01-2002 06:40 PM

A Quickie... (maybe that's what got me into trouble in the first place!)!

What a commotion over little ol'me! I don't THINK I'm pregnant... but there's always a possibility! Ahh! I will DEFINITELY get a test tomorrow if TOM hasn't showed up BUT... I kinda feel like maybe my body is starting to get around to it's monthly cycle so I'm holding off... for now! Hmmm.... I DO want to have kids in the future but they are not in my plans for now PLUS my diet is SO important to me and I would like to get down to goal weight (another 47 pounds) before swelling back up again! My plans for my Master's Degree next year would also be greatly affected so... it's not a good time for me! (Now, if I keep saying that to my body, do you think it'll listen?)

Duckie... Good for you for steering clear of the pure evil I call chocolate! By the way, I'm here to listen. Please, YAP AWAY! I love to have lots of post to read!

Shell... Hmmm. I wanna chat but I'm just trying to figure out if we're in the same time zone! I THINK we are! I'd be up for it, say 1:00pm-ish tomorrow if you're around. (If anybody else can make it, that'd be awesome too!) So... just lemme know!

I wanna make more replies and take a look at that link Duckie provided but dinner is ready (salmon again!) so I'll pop back shortly!

Sara :)

STOP!! DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200!!!

In other words: DO NOT POST HERE! :D

Go to "300+ And Ready To Try Again....#222"

See ya there!

MichelleK 10-01-2002 07:54 PM

Shells I found it at big lots for .79 a lb!! And I'm giving it away if that tells you anything! Just let me know...everyone's taste is different so you might like it!! Its half the points per serving as regular pasta.

For all you chocoholics out there....have you tried the pria bars? They are only 2 points each and satisfy that chocolate craving. You can get them cheapest at Walmart for like .68 each! Check them out!! Just don't buy too many at once or you will want to eat them all up like I did!! I usually get the FF chocolate pudding cups from Jello. they are only 2 points and still 2 points with a tablespoon of FF cool whip!
