Default Does grace come with weight loss... or am I stuck a klutz forever?

Hehe...

Yeah. I'm a klutz. I'm always running into walls, doors, doorknobs, the ONE object in the room that pokes out, etc. I have scars all over my body from:

straightening irons left on (NOT BY ME!!!) a table... turned on.
trying to open an ink bottle with a pocketknife
running into something sharp
falling down and scraping up my leg
horseback riding, wearing the wrong pants and tearing up the inside of my leg
quite a few on my feet due to various things, running into things, having shoes rub my heels raw, flip flops, etc...

And then... all the bruises. Not like... huge bruises... just little ones... and they go away pretty quickly.

I don't MIND being a klutz... I'm just curious... did any of you guys get more graceful as you lost weight? Or... not at all.

Nope, not me. I'm still as clumsy as an OX...a Bull in a China Closet. Just today I whacked myself in the face with a pine branch while trimming trees. I have cuts and scrapes all over my "skinny" legs. I had to wear long pants to Church today because my poor legs look like I have been beat up, but really I tripped over the tiller a few days ago.

I spilled olive oil all over my new kitchen floor this morning, and missed the compost bucket when I was was dumping coffee grounds....they ended up all over the counter. Nope...no grace here.

Haha... fun. I probably won't become much more graceful then... unless I suddenly become a princess and am put through princess training... though I doubt that'll happen... since I know both of my parents.

I can't say I'm much of a klutz in that sense. I'm ditzy because I lose things constantly and have a bad memory, but I've never been one to bump into things.

Losing weight has helped me gain balance. I think that's due to the exercising rather than the actual weight loss, though. All of this lunging and squatting has helped me become more in tune with my body, I guess.

I'm still mostly a klutz, although I think my exercise routine has made me more flexible so that might help a little. And I try to persuade myself that I don't have as many bruises that are caused by being a "wide load" and underestimating whether I can squeeze through a space between a filing cabinet and desk, for instance.

Sometimes there are just those days, though, when everything lands peanut butter-side down.

Klutz here...you should SEE my legs from where I'm always bumping and banging into things. And my elbows and arms. I bruise easily too...I look like I fell and rolled down a rocky hill or something...

There was a period in my weight loss where it got WORSE. It's like I had some new balance I didn't recognize, and so kept leaning over and spilling things. It was really, really bad, but it seem to have cleared up.

This isn't right, but it's true: as with many things, a "normal" weight klutzy person is seen as having charming quirk, whereas an klutziness on an overweight person will be viewed by some as more evidence of their moral failings. The sort of people that think "people falling down" is funny think it's even funnier when fat people fall down. I don't know if that's any comfort. Actually, I think I just depressed myself all over again.

I'm also a super-duper klutz! And forgetful, too... so I get bruises on my legs from bumping into stuff, but I can't remember what it was, LOL!

I bump into doors, doorknobs, walls and occasionally people. I trip over my pets, their play toys, and sometimes that thing called "air". Shoot fuzzy fire! I can even trip while STANDING STILL!!! (Seriously, I have just "fallen off my shoes" before...)

It's not so bad, except for the bruises (ouch!), twisted back, broken toes, occasional blood leakage, etc. And it makes for wonderful conversation when someone sees it happen.

Being klutzy I think will never go away for most of us, I walked my little toe right into a door yesterday. Ouch!

I do notice the more weight I lose, the more balanced and stronger I feel. Like maybe I won't fall down. But it doesn't stop me from walking into things, haha!

It's good to know there's a lot of us out there

Well on the upside from a fellow klutz. I tripped over a sidewalk while running in Boot Camp today but totally caught myself and avoided landing face first. So I think if anything from weight loss I have a stronger core and to self correct a little bit more...
