I have been stuck at this wall of 180lbs for like 3 weeks. I can't seem to break through it! I gained a lb this week, which I'm not crying over, but I really wanted to be under 180 this week . Any tips on breaking through?

Also how can someone wear 14s in jeans, but order a bridesmaid that comes back as a size 22?! That boggles my mind. I mean I just don't think I'm that big!

I've never been a bride or bridesmaid, but I have heard tell many times that those gowns are sized higher than the norm.

Wow! Sometimes I think shops order a large size so they can whack you with alterations. If you are a 14 jeans, you would need at least a 16 in the dress, b/c the sizes do run smaller... so I would think you would've needed a 18 at most. But maybe it was some weird sizing. Please don't focus on that number.

Are you exercising a lot? I hit a plateau and found that, due to my level of activity, I had to increase my calorie intake in order to lose weight.

Also, I agree re: the comments you are receiving regarding dress. I have been a bridesmaid and had to order a dress that was a larger size than what I was wearing at the time. It does seem like a significant size difference, though. I would double check the sizing with the bridal shop and if the dress ends up being way too big, they should take some of the responsibility for remedying the problem.

Give us some more info about your "plateau" and we can see if we can help you.

Are you tracking each and every morsel that goes in your mouth and have you been for the past 3 weeks? Is there any way you're measurements are off with your foods? Is it possible that you're underestimating your calories? Have you had ANY cheat days, meals or snacks? How has your activity/exercise level been? What types of foods are you eating? How's your sodium intake? Your water intake?

Oh and about the sizing with bridesmaid dresses. Well my daughter just got married last week and my dress for her wedding was a size 8. And I normally wear a size 2 or 4. Now granted they took it in (a little), but I was told that the designer stuff is sized more like it was before vanity sizing came into play. So everything is definitely going to be a larger size than what you get in the stores. It was the same way for my daughters (the brides sisters') as well. They took sizes considerably larger than what they normally wear.

I can't relate to a plateau but dresses are bigger sized than pant sizes. A girl in my class who is a 00 was a size three in her prom dress, and I remember going dress shopping once and the lady told me that during a fashion show they had they couldn't even get size 0 girls into a size 4 prom dress.
Dress sizes for fancy dresses are really odd, so I wouldn't worry about it!

I went through the same thing about a week ago. At the advice of a helpful lady on here, I tried going vegetarian for a few days. Still had eggs for protein though. It seems to have helped with my stall.

Yea my biggest worry about the dress is losing so much weight that I end up having to order a new dress or spend a lot to have it altered(which I haven't done yet). I wanted to wait as long as possible in the event that I do drop more weight.

As far as my calories and such are concerned, I know I'm not drinking enough water, so it might be fluid retention. My nutritionist told me to incorporate more broccoli and cauliflower as my veggie group and be sure to get at least 3 of my protein shakes in everyday. Today I think I drank all my water for the day. Better luck next week I guess? Yes, I should exercise more, but struggling with the balancing act of work and gym. Thanks for all the advice!
