Hunger and WW
I only get 19 points a day...I stay hungry...anyone else feel that way ?
|
I fill up on zero point foods. Veggies... tons of veggies. and zero point soup.
|
I am not looking forward to the day I only have 19pts, but I agree with shytowngal. Lots of veggies and low point foods. My leader did point out that two servings of broccoli is 1 pt if eaten together. I try to stick to 1 and 2 pt snacks most of the time unless I have extra points. I do eat move of my weekly points as I seem to lose better that way.

Zero point foods for the win! Also what sort of foods are you eating? I can feel rather full on 19 points already depending on what I eat. Are you eating lean protein? Try eating salmon if you don't. Most patties are 2 points. Sometimes I add one point worth of shrimp to my veggies to up my heatlhy protein/make me wanna eat them.
Also, remember man made zero point foods should be limited because those points do add up in the end but as far as I know natural zero point foods are good to go. And even if 2 servings of brocolli will equal 2 points, I doubt that brocolli is gonna make me gain. The reason I like WW is because it encourages me to eat veggies because of the zero points. |
Plus you can use your weekly points through out the week or eat some of your exercise points!
|
I get 20 and if I didn't get activity points and use them and some of my flex points I'd starve to death!

I love WW, so don't get me wrong here, but the one thing I don't like is expecting folks to live on 19 or 20 pts a day. That's barely 1000 cals.
I just don't think that's enough. The first time I lost 51 lbs with WW,(a few years ago) I started at 24. Then they changed it and now I should be at 22. I have a very active and physically demanding job and I'd starve at 19 pts. The 24 works very well for me. I get enough to eat and still lose Plus reading a lot of the other posts from all the great people here, there are very few people that it would be advisable for to eat less than 1200 cals/day. Just my thoughts. But if you can hang in there by filling up on free foods, good for you! |
I have a very physical job too. With the quiz, I get 35 on my work days and I lower it on my days off to 31 since I know I won't be that active.

I think you need to rethink that. You have to add the calories for 0-point foods and a point can be anywhere from 40-100 calories depending on fat and fiber. I get 18 points and I am never hungry. I plan my meals ahead putting in all my HGs in first. I actually use 1-2 of my WAPs to do this. I eat more protein than starch. Protein and fat keep you feeling full. If you spend your points on multiple 100-calorie packs and snacks like that you will be hungry. WW has been in business for more than 40 years and knows a whole lot more about losing weight than anyone here. |
I get o cause of my job sit all day I'm 51 so I think I get 1 for that I weigh in the 160's so get 16 for that I'm prettyy sure it's 19..I'll try that 0 food thing...I'm not ragging on WW I love it...just new at is since been on Atkins all my life.

Karen, are you sure you are calculating the quiz right? From what I have seen from your posts, you should have 20 points (never go down below 18). Remember, you have 35 weekly points. You can split them up throughout the week if you need. You can also eat your working out points.
Other than that, you really need to fill up on fruits and veggies with lean protein. Zero point veggies are the best thing ever! |
Here's an example of some 19 point meals:
Oatmeal with almonds or fruits on top: 3-5 snack-carrots and hummus: 1 lunch: salmon and veggies-2-3 (like most your place should be veggies) snack: apple and pb-3-4 dinner: chicken, rice (1/2) and veggies-5 |
I used to do weight watchers and if my mind is clear enough, 19 points is low,19 x 50 per calorie that is the weight watchers method..so 19 x 50 = 950 calories/points..low.
Maybe making low points food choices..Hope this helps..Good luck. |
