Why not give what you aren't eating to people who need the food?

  • Hey guys, I've been watching biggest loser lately and it got me to thinking... Since we're all losing weight anyway, why not pledge our pounds in the pound for pound challenge? For each pound you pledge, a pound of food goes to your local food bank. It's also motivation to lose those pounds, knowing that you gave your word to lose the weight.

  • I pledged back in December and I'm at 40 lbs down out of the 50 lbs (max they allow) that I pledged. My city (Denver) is 4th on the list!
  • I pledged 30 lbs in January and have lost 13 so far! But, are you supposed to go back and update how much you've lost or just pledge and are done? Thanks I think it's amazing that they're giving back I wanna make sure I'm doing it right!
  • That's so awesome. I looked to see if there's a way you can go back and tell them what you've lost, but I don't see it anywhere. I think you just give them your word and they take that. I've pledged my weight and I can wait to be able to say like you guys, that I've kept my word.
  • I've gotten a few emails since I pledged - not follow ups on how much I've lost but I was thinking they may use that data base and send out some questionnaire at the end maybe?
  • I pledged back in February. So far I have lost 19 of the 40 pledged. I want to lose more than that, but the challenge ends in June.
  • This is a really neat idea. Thanks for sharing!
I just pledged my last few pounds.
