Need a Wake Up Call? Jumbo-Sized Caskets on Oprah Today

I live in Chicago where Oprah is aired at 9am, which is much earlier than most people get to see Oprah. So I'm alerting you all to tune in today where Oprah features Ryan Seacrest and Jamie Oliver and the new show Food Revolution. The show's premise is about Jamie Oliver intervening an elementary school's cafeteria in a small town in West Virginia. The small town was named one of the most obese towns in America and one of the town's radio DJ does not like the idea of Mr. Oliver coming in and telling the towns people what to eat.

As a wake up call for the radio dj, Mr. Oliver takes him to a funeral home that offers jumbo sized caskets. The funeral director explains what is involved for the family of an obese person. The size alone of the casket amazes me, and the real heart stopper occurred for me when they explained that a fork lift was needed to carry the casket.

So if you or any of your family or friends needs a major weight loss wake up call, please tune into Oprah today and also tune into Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution on ABC tonight at 8ET.

I'm sorry if this in anyway breaks the rules for promotion. I don't work for ABC, Oprah, or Jamie Oliver, I just think that these shows should be watched.

Thanks for reading!

I love Oprah AND Jamie Oliver. Jamie's done incredible things with his Ministry of Food stuff in England, and I think it's great that he's trying to reach a broader audience.

I wish I had TV so I could watch this episode. I just caught the first episode of Jamie Oliver's show and man, do I feel for him. Anyway, would love to catch this. Maybe it will be on hulu later today. Thanks for the heads up!

P.S: Why is Ryan Seacrest there?

I believe that Ryan Seacrest is one of the producers for Jamie's show.

I don't watch much TV myself, but it looks like some of this is online. I love the internet!

You are correct! The show starts with an interview with Ryan Seacrest. Oprah's camera crew follows Ryan during a workday. I was unaware how busy that man is.

Oh, and the show ends with a healthy chicken nugget recipe by Jamie Oliver and a collard green/kale side dish. If it wasn't lent, I'd be making that for dinner tonight!

By the way, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution will be on TLC tonight, at 8 pm Eastern.
(I don't know if it's a one time thing or a series).

You can watch it whenever you want online. (Well, until it expires on the site.)

Oh my goodness. This was one of my biggest fears.

Where in the world would my family find a coffin big enough to fit me? How were they going to prepare me for burial? Who in the world could possibly lift me? I worried about this often. Ugh. Horrible, horrible memories.

I so rarely watch Oprah these days. I will do my best to catch it today. Thanks for the heads up.

OT, but I am so jealous that you don't have TV!

We have 4 TVs and I hate it.
