I really don't like comments like those, either. Those really hurt. I talked to her and I guess she has lost some weight, too, which is really good but I honestly can't shake my anger. I don't know why I'm so angry at her, she just...she still seems like she thinks she's so much better than me for it (because I didn't tell her I've lost some, too). I've never had this problem with this friend before.

Maybe she's not a friend, then. Life is short. Be friends with people who are kind to you, and be kind to them. I have no time for people who are rude or belittling to me.

Yup, comments from family members and friends can hurt the most. I remember my aunt looking at older photo's of pin up actresses and going "women used to be a heck of a lot thicker back then, like you and me!" and I was just so furious because she was so thin & the comment came out of no where.
Honestly though (for me at least), when I was at my heighest weight I was just really unhappy withmyself as a person and I used other people's comments to fuel this unhappiness & lack of self confidence..yup yup I can be quite self destructive. I'm sorry that had to happen to you. Just remember: As long as you're trying your best, as long as you WANT this weight loss & more healthy lifestyle....well...nothing can stop you ;) |
