Clothing sizes are wacky...Back in the 1980's, when I was 17, I was 130 lbs and a size 10. Tens were a smaller back then. Also, when I was at my heaviest, 173, I refused to wear anything larger than a 14, so I stretched out my clothes.

I agree sizes are now goofy. When I was 18, I weighed about 148 and wore a size 14. I thought I was HUGE!
Frame sizes are weird too. All my life I thought I was big-boned/large framed. My wrist size is 6 3/8" which is a large frame, but my wrists seem tiny to me. Now I feel like maybe I have a medium frame? Heaviest Weight Ever: 1. Age - 34 2. Weight - 248 3. Height - 5'-6" 4. Frame - Apparently Large 5. Size - ??? I only wore knits, mostly made by myself. Size - Tops are M/S, bottoms can be anywhere--6, 8 or 10s. I try not to focus on the number so much. |

I recently bought a cute button down denim skirt size 10 sits slightly below belly button and dress pants size 12 cause they sit lower on the waist. I wish the sizes were more uniform. A 10 would fit the same no matter what the lable or cut. |
