Co-workers!, AGGG! The reason I'm so glad I work with 2 men who couldn't care less. I'm the only woman in the place and it's great. As long as I show up on t ime and do my work, they are totally oblivious.
I don't even discuss weight loss with others outside my family. I save it for them and for here. Reason being, everyone has their own angle, and too many people think that only their own approach is the right way to go. I get conflicting advice, and discussions can become heated. I hate debate, so I just avoid all that by doing my own thing and not telling anyone unless they want to know.
I'm with all the people here who say just ignore the girl and don't try to be judgemental about what she eats, how much she exercises, etc. You need to worry about your own weight and health, not hers, right?
A lot of people at my work might judge ME because when I work in the mornings there (bakery) and I always eat a 350 calorie muffin and about 100 calories of something else, maybe part of a cookie or a slice of bread. They might think, "Wow does she go home and snack like that all day?" No, I don't. I'm very, very hungry in the morning - I always have been - and I eat the most in the morning. I eat a very light lunch and a small dinner, and I've obviously been successful so far. In addition, I run 3 - 4 miles almost everyday. A coworker of mine, one of my best friends, once came up to me with the best of intentions and said, "Liz if you want to make your butt smaller you shouldn't run because that just makes your butt larger." I just Smiled and Nodded, and didn't worry about it because maybe that happened to her... But I'm sitting here with my butt 2 inches smaller than it used to be.
It's very self destroying to try to judge people or try to see how we're better than them, etc. Don't try to get back at her, don't try to make her feel bad, that will just breed more hard feelings and you'll both keep at it for a long time.
In addition, maybe she's just really tired of you talking about dieting and weight loss. I know I get SO tired of people talking about it, just like they talk about anything else obsessively (kids, golfing, some TV show I don't watch, etc.). That's why there's 3FC, you can come here and talk about weight loss, where people actually want to hear about it and share ideas... Unless it's a trusted friend of yours, just don't talk about it, plain and simple.
they have made me soo upset, one is extreamly thin and was going on and on about how because she hasnt eaten biscuits for a week she she lost nine pounds!
i mean this just sucks and to say things like that said around somone who is working there arse off to bearly see 1 pound a week drop is soo horrid.
i guess we all get things like this in some way, best think some people talk **** just have to ignore them
Thank God, I thought I was the only one that this was happening to. =P
One of my "best" friends is also on a weight loss journey. She started back in June/July and I started in November. She's told me she's been attending bootcamp sessions and taking spin classes daily. She's also claiming to be eating healthy.
On one of our outings with the girls, I opted to choose healthier options from the menu and she got mad at me. She said it's only one day and that it's ok to treat yourself. I personally disagree because I don't need the treat.
Next we started talking about general healthy eating and avoiding hunger pains. I told her I usually just grab an apple and she freaked out and told me apples and fruits make you fat because of the sugars... while she just order a piece of chocolate cake!
On top of this, I've almost lost 20lbs and she hasn't lost a single lb since June/July.
McDonalds and weight loss is an oxymoron...and she's just a moron!
Just chiming in to say that when I was a senior in high school, I ate Chicken McNuggets for 1-2 meals a day and fruit for my other meals and lost about 15 pounds. Not saying it's healthy, but you *can* lose weight eating at McDonalds. Especially now that they have some healthier options.

So true. Weight loss and healthy eating can be two different animals.
