Should I eat popcorn again?
So... for the past 2 nights, I've had 300 calories left at the end of the night and for my snack, I've chosen popcorn. It's the redenbacher smart pop 94% fat free kettle corn kind, but it's not the 100 calorie packs, it's the whole pack which is 2 servings of 140 cals.. so 280. Tonight I have the calories left over and I'm craving popcorn again. For some reason, it feels like cheating even though it's within my limit.
When I think about it logically, I know there's no problem fitting the popcorn in... Does anyone else see an issue with it? I need an outside perspective. |
You may have some water retention with the salt, and popcorn isn't packed with nutrients, but if you are getting what you need nutritionally from the rest of your day, I don't see a problem with enjoying the popcorn.

I love popcorn too! It feels nice to have a big bowl of something that I can stuff in my face, without getting off plan!

I`d definitely keep eating it. You have the calories left over, you enjoy popcorn, and it`s a low-fat snack. I don`t see the harm.
I`m doing a big grocery order and I`ve included the 100 calorie bags of SmartPop. Normally I try to avoid popcorn because it`s so loaded with fat and because I know that if I have one of the large bags I`ll eat the whole thing. I don`t have an airpopper, but even if I did I can`t stomach just plain popcorn either. I figure the small bags will be doable. What I`m waiting for is for someone to invent popcorn that can`t get stuck in your teeth and imbedded in your gums. |
