Hi again!
Thank you for your information! Maybe I will try posting on the Featherweights board as well. I've never considered myself a featherweight really:( Yes, I have some weights and should really bring them out sometime:) Every day possibly:) MrsLovett |
I think that if you feel good, if your medical values are within normal, and you are strong, muscular, and healthy, then being a bit underweight is not bad. I know some modles, dancers, gymnists, jockeys keep themselves at unhealthy weights and some do not. If it is natural for you to go underweight and you are not depriving yourself (eating disorders, starvation diets-- you know, the bad stuff).. then there is no problem either. It's when a person tries to go all day on a few slices of white bread, or some unhealthy bit of dieting, that they might seriously injure themselves. Remember also that muscle weighs more so if you are exersising and gaining more muscle then you had back when you were 105 before -- of if you are more mature-- in other words if you used to be 105 as a ten year old, and are now 18, then it might not work out. Growth spurts and "filling out" will add some weight also.

Hi!
Hopefully someone can share her experience with me. I live with my parents. Moved back home about a year ago, and gained 34 lb in 3 months +stopped excersising. Now the weight adds little by little. I have had many discussions with my parents about my need to lose weight (240 lb at 5'5'') and they always say they understand me but in reality... They buy (not the healthiest) foods that I love and they know I'm not capable of refusing. I just can't have this kind of food around! How to make them see that I don't need that food or better yet how to be strong enough not to eat that food. I've been to a doctor's and she told me to lose weight of course, but my parents don't seem to understand how hard is overweight to my knees and back. Unfortunately moving is not an option right now. Appreciate any help and wise words! |
Hi! :wel3fc:
Your parents may like their favorite foods, and your need to lose weight doesn't mean that they should go completely without them. So, you need to have alternatives around that you can eat instead of those foods. Who does the food shopping in your house? Perhaps you could start helping with going shopping and that way buy foods that are more to your needs. You can sit down with your parents and talk about the alternatives and what you plan to eat. Also, who does the food preparation? If you help with fixing foods, you can fix something for yourself that's different from what they are eating. Don't be passive in this process! You need to take an active role in the food situation. Good luck! Jay |
