Found something I never thought of before...
Chewing gum, you can burn 11+calories an hour! Interesting! I was wondering what kind of exercise I can do to "work out my face" lol... so I will start chewing gum as much as I can, LOL!
And I did research this!! Hehehehe! |
I've found that chewing gum stops me from nibbling. I should make sure I have some in my pocket later today ;)

it can be a good exercise for your face plus it can give you a feeling that you are eating something and prevent you from overeating.

gum always helps me! I chew it alot to stop myself from snacking. It also helped me quit smoking for over 6 months!

I used 2 chew gum all the time...until I read an article that chewing gum gets the juices in your tummy going and it can cause you to get hungry. (This is in my words...not the scientific words :) ) The article said gum was good to use if you had a tummy ache. Not sure if any of this is true... I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth this morning! :)

I HATE the sound of people chewing/popping/smacking gum. It drives me absolutely batty (it's a real disorder - my friend looked it up!) In addition, chewing gum does make me hungry...very hungry (but hey, what doesn't?? lol) |
Me to I can't stand hearing other people chewing gum it makes me go crazy Lol! I'm gonna try chewing gum all yhe tome, maybe. Can control my cravings, work on my face, and maybe quit smoking!??

Chewing gum... well, never been a big fan of it before, but if it will trim my jaw line, heck, then why not?????????

Depending on the flavor, it can make me hungry but if I stick with the minty kinds I'm usualy good. It works well when you're around others eating stuff you can't have too!

I think the minty gum is better at controlling cravings. I haven't researched this, but remember reading something about it. Regardless of the flavor, I do use gum to control cravings and it helps a ton when I'm in public and others are eating and I can't.

I've found that if I've chewed some minty gum, I don't WANT to eat...because anything I put in my mouth tastes like crap...
Brushing your teeth does the same thing. If you're getting the munchies, just go brush your teeth, THEN see how much you want to eat...lol |
I would probably chew gum, but when I do my jaw hurts so much after a while. Does anyone else have this problem?

That's really interesting! I grab a piece of gum whenever I start to feel the urge to snack and it helps me not too. I never thought about how it must burn calories chewing it, I always just counted in the 5 calories that's in the gum. Now I wont feel so bad about those stupid 5 calories, thanks for the info!!

I can't stand gum. Not even as a kid.
When I had my wisdom teeth out a year ago (I know, who gets their wisdom teeth out at 27?), they had to cut through a jaw muscle for a particular complicated bit. Which means my muscles didn't heal evenly and I had to chew like 5 pieces of gum only on one side of my mouth for about 2 months solid. It hurt. A lot. And your jaw gets tired real fast. So, I see gum and my jaw immediately just clenches with rejection ;> |

I chew gum a lot! The mint kind does keep me from eating when I don't want to.....I'm a grazer and always will be lol
