Wake up hungry?

I know this is too early to tell ANYTHING...

but, I've been eating for a week above 1200 due to more activity and being considerably hungrier.

And today I woke up starving. When I weighed I was also a lb down again, instead of being up repeatedly for 4 days.

Is the increasing hunger a sign of my metabolism kicking in? Especially morning hunger? Usually I don't want a big breakfast...Someone posted before that when they noticed her hunger increasing she started dropping weight better.

I hope that is what this means for me!:carrot:

which was cool, because my weights and calories were the following:
7th 172.2 1280 cs
8th 174.0 1665 cs
9th 173.0 1000 cs
10th 173.6 1855 cs
11th 172.4 1390 cs
12th 173.6 2070 cs [christmas Dinner]
13th 174.0 1680 cs
14th 174.8 1889 cs
15th 173.8

I have no idea whatsoever if this is true but I really want it to be, today I am so hungry I could eat a house, even though I've had exactly the same number of calories I have every day by this time...

I don't know either, but I wouldn't take it as a bad sign! I'm trying now to view hunger (when I'm eating right and exercise) as my body telling me it needs good fuel to burn like a furnace;)

At least that's what I tell myself

Isn't that something? It's like all your body cells are crying out, "Oh my gosh, she's decided to feed us after all!"

Make sure that when you increase your calories, you add mostly protein. It seems like lots of folks don't get enough.

Keep on keeping on...

Jay

I always wake up hungry! I think as our metabolism increases, it causes us to be hungrier because we're burning it all up! I like to look at it as a good thing!

I can't speak authortatively but when I wake up hungry I know I'm losing. It's a sign that my body has burned off everything (you got into ketosis naturally while you sleep - given enough fuel) and is looking for more. Keep it up!

I rarely wake up hungry but I do eat a yogurt or a banana about 15 mins after getting up. I exercise around 6:30pm everyday 6 days a week. I eat dinner after my workout and then around 9:30 I will eat a yogurt or banana and that usually holds me over until the next day. I cant go to sleep hungry with my stomach growling. If what your doing is working for you then keep it up. I eat around 1500-1800 calories a day

hmmm. i forgot to mention. I ate 3 oz chicken and 1/2 grapefruit before bed, and I still woke up hungry.

Many days I wake up hungry, some I don't wake up hungry but I get hungry within 20 minutes or so... I've noticed that this has been a common theme since I've been working out regularly 6 days a week. I'm thinking it must be from increased metabolism!

I usually wake up hungry if i had an early dinner the night before and didn't snack before bed.

Sunnigummi 12-17-2009 09:02 AM

Morning times = ravenous Sunnigummi. Seriously, when I get up in the morning, I always crave a HUGE omelet with lots of veggies, 4 slices of toast and maybe half a biscotti. Then I drink my glass of milk and eat my bowl of oatmeal and I'm stuffed. ;)

Mostly I wake up starving when I've had too much for dinner or eaten too late at night.

jendiet 12-17-2009 02:27 PM

Sunni, man that sounds good. Sometimes I wish I could just take the time to make an omelet like that. I made one for lunch the other day though.

Well, I drank 1 cup milk, and 5 gingerbread cookies (45 cs piece) oooops! ( woke up 1 lb heavier--due to water gain) And I woke up hungry still. This is a wonder to me, cause I normally don't wake up hungry and can easily skip breakfast, especially if I ate right before bed.

Sunnigummi 12-17-2009 06:00 PM

Usually my laziness makes me eat oatmeal and drink milk, haha. I've made omelets like that for lunch though. Mighty good. Not too heavy either. I use 1 whole egg and 1 egg white. You get the volume but far fewer cals. :)
