Sugar Sugar Sugar??????
I have used C&H since...forever lol.
I want to try something healthier. What do you guys use and why?:dizzy: |
Splenda. Far fewer calories, no bitter aftertaste. I use it to sweeten tea, and I drink gallons of tea every week. I should be the poster child for splenda.
Splenda for me as well!
I'm a person who really appreciates aesthetics, and for some reason...artificial sweeteners don't meet my freaky weird standards of how things should feel/be/look. It's like when I go for a cuppa--it just feels wrong to use skim milk and a little packet of fake sugar. Sigh. Now, I just try to use somewhat quality, less processed sugar. The cute stuff that's all golden brown and crystal-like. Instead of using fake stuff, I limit my portions with the real stuff.
Except for pop. I live off of diet pop... |
I use Stevia. It's all natural and no calories, but you have to buy the most expensive one because then, it tastes better. It lasts FOREVER because it's so much sweeter than sugar.
For the most part I am just going to use sugar. The only time I want it is when I drink tea, and I only need a little( a teaspoon) to get the sweetness I desire. However, when I go tea crazy, I use sun crystals. It is a blend between stevia and sugar and it is 5 calories a packet. No artificial aftertaste, and 1 packet tastes sweeter than the same amount of sugar, so it goes a long way.
I still use real sugar. Artificial sweeteners, even the "natural" ones give me a horrible headache. At 15 calories per teaspoon, it's easy for me to make a small adjustment to my caloric intake daily to account for it.
Agreed with the folks who just use real sugar.
I use both Splenda and Stevia
I use real sugar. I've tried the sugar free yogurts and the aftertaste was awful! I've had the yogurts with real sugar and they tasted fine to me.
Like cassieroll, I also adjust my daily calories to account for any sugar intake. :) |
I like to eat fruit. If the fruit needs a boost, I put splenda in it.
I use splenda sometimes in coffee or tea.
I drink diet sodas made with aspartame or splenda. But when I'm cooking, I usually end up using real sweeteners - most often I'm not particularly drawn to dishes/recipes with white sugar, so it's something like maple syrup, honey, or brown sugar. And I'm a horrendous baker so that's not a concern. :D |
I use real sugar. I don't like the taste of splenda, and since I'm pretty good about limiting my intake of sugar I don't see the need to try stevia.
