Freaky NSV
Monday is my official weigh in day, although like most of you I weigh myself a little more than that. I noticed yesterday that I'd lost an even 30kg -just over 65lbs in American money. Of course I'm always happy to see a loss, the 30kgs wasn't a goal, most of my goals are about old clothes fitting again, so I had nothing to tick off, so I was vaguely pleased but not jumping for joy.
Yesterday afternoon when I'd sort of forgotten about the nice round figure (the one of 30kg, not my own) the dog food delivery man called with two bags of food for my puppies. It took my ages to drag the box up the stairs, I could lift them but walking at the same time was an awful lot of work. I noticed while I was unpacking them that each bag is 15kg! I don't post very much but I do visit you ladies every day and I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for keeping me on track so far. |
what an amazing accomplishment!!! it's funny to find things that weigh what we have lost and then realise how much it *really* is. Great job!!
|
Wow, what a great visual reminder of your accomplishment. Congrats on the 30 kg loss and being that much closer to your goal!
|
I used to weigh 250 and I seriously can't imagine lugging that 50 lbs. around again!! How did we ever do it?
|
love that story, great way to concretely get a sense of what you've done for yourself, you did it, you lost the weight! congrats!!

These kinds of NSV's are bittersweet for me. On one hand it's amazing how far we have come, and on the other hand it's kind of sad to realize how far we had let ourselves go. I try to remember these when I'm tempted to shovel a cookie in my mouth!
Way to go! |

I keep lots of animals and because of that, I throw a lot of 40-lb. feed bags around. When I realize that I need to lose a total of 2 and a half of these, it puts things in a perspective like nothing else can. Just... day-um. :o

Somewhere on the goal pics area there is a picture of someone standing next to two 50 lbs buckets of lard, she had lost 100 lbs and that was her comparison. I remember early on in my weight loss, when I had lost 20 lbs, I went to the grocery store, grabbed and 20 lbs bag of rice and carried it round for a few minutes...wow. It really brings it all home.

65 lbs?! That's something you should be really REALLY proud of! Congratulations!!!! :carrot:

I buy my dogfood in 77 lb bags and although I can lift one up to my shoulder and carry it from the car to the laundry room, it takes A LOT of effort. I can't run up stairs or anything carrying a bag. And I've lost TWO of them! No WONDER I was sick and tired and in pain all the time!!!
Cool NSV! |
