WL revelation?

So how come I do a happy dance when I see a lower number on the scale but I did not do it when I was going up and that same number was on the scale. AND as matter of fact I hated the way I looked at that same weight on the way up….is the glass now half full?

PS down 20+ lbs today, but still peeved that I let myself gain those 20 LBS I am about 8 from my "happy to be me weight"

I know!

I can't imagine any time in the first 40 years of my life that I'd be hoppin' happy to be this weight :D

I competely understand!

You're so right, I never thought of it that way!

I totally agree, I remember 2 years ago starting a diet weighing 229, I was so upset. Now, one month ago I started a diet at 245, now at 234, boy I can't wait to hit 229! Isn't it funny how very different things can look from the other side!

Yes, yes, yes!

At 160 on the way UP, I felt just awful. Now, at 160 on the way DOWN, I feel - well, not great, but better for sure.

wow, i never thought of it that way before! good point!

HAHA SO TRUE! Somehow I see myself as "looking better" at this weight going down than I did going up.. as though it's different now because I'm losing lol

I know!!! A lady bigger than me told me that she wished she could just get down to my size. I'm thinkin' "WTF?!?! I don't wanna be my size!" But now I think about how I haven't been under 200 since middle school. I still have a long way to go, but I can be happy in this moment too. :)

I totally do this too! I'm starting to fit into my "skinny" clothes, which were, at one point, my fat clothes as I moved up sizes. So, as things start to fit, i'm excited to wear them, not embarrassed!
Hind-sight is always 20/20, right?

I think that on the way up we do no work whatsoever..in fact we are the opposite. We are not exercising, and we are eating whatever we want...we are not doing work.

So I think it's fine to celebrate when you are on the way down at a weight that you despised before but you are happy to be at now. Because that means progress, and progress is good. It means that we have put effort into doing something and we are PROUD of ourselves. It's okay to celebrate, do a happy dance..because you can celebrate that this is the last time you will see that number.

The glass is half full when you are losing weight!!!
