  • I started having a problem sticking to my program, then had a couple of vacations. I got down to 241, then took a long weekend away where I let myself overindulge in goodies. When I got back, I didn't go crazy, but I was eating more. Now I have 5 lbs to get back down there. Part of it is a lot of personal and work stress.

I have this mindset that I shouldn't come here and post if I'm not doing well. I wish I wouldn't do that, because I might be able to get back on track sooner if I did come here, then I'd have to do less backtracking. Grrrr.
  • It's funny how when we feel like we've failed on one aspect (or at least let it slide) we don't feel like we can come to place where we get support-when in all actuality, this is EXACTLY where we need to come!

Welcome back! ((((HUGS)))) You can get back into it!
  • I'm a big believer in the 'human' rule - we're all human. This is life, things happen and you stumble. The key is to not let the stumble turn in to a full on fall. You've come back and posted and we're here for the good stuff and the bad.

Stick around - we'll will help you stay on track!
  • Your ticker says you started at 320 and lost almost 80 pounds. That's outstanding! If you achieved that then you know all about commitment and taking the long view, about picking yourself up and getting back on the trail after a setback. You can do this - you've got what it takes.
  • Welcome back!

What's done is done - now just jump back in and you'll be where you left off (or smaller) in no time!

on returning. I agree it can be hard when we're off track to come here...but I also agree that it's ABSOLUTELY the place we need to go!
  • Welcome back! Good to see you
  • So glad to hear from you!! I'm glad you've caught this lapse while at the 5 lb mark and no more. Good catch!

Sounds like you're ready to re-commit. And that's a good thing. Check in with 3FC often. It really does help to be around like minded people. It keeps weight loss (health) on the tippy top of your mind. Which is where it needs to be. IMO, the only way that this can work is if it's a top priority. Therefore we need to focus on it. So please, stick around. I look forward to hearing from you once again!

but in rising every time we fall."

You really have already come so far! Keep your head up. We're all here for you!
  • thanks everybody! I appreciate it!
  • Yep dear....sometimes life gets in the way of our plans doesn't it?

Knowing what you need to do is that first big step back...

Prayers and hugs as we watch you succeed!
  • thanks! it feels much better to be back and reading and posting. It's so easy to lose focus, esp when life gets stressful.
  • I understand about how stress can make you overeat! I work in a prison and boy can we get stressed! I'm pulling for you.
  • lol...girl I did the same thing, but I got 10 lbs up before I started posting again....

I was just too busy, but really I didn't want others to see my failure. Thankfully, I realized, I could keep hiding from my support group--and keep going up---or I could become proactive and get back in there.

I am so proud of your 80 lbs! That is tough. I am still 16 lbs down....but I want to at least be back down 20! 80 is awesome!
  • But now you're back and getting the support that will help you shed those five pounds again! Focus on the positive!
  • Friday (today) is my official weigh in day, and I've lost 4 of the 5 lbs, I'm back to my ticker weight I'm not proud that I went haywire, I am proud that I got back on the wagon after 5 lb gain and stuck to it. One more lb to see the 241 again (the number I saw BEFORE I went away for the weekend).

That means I'm making the commitment today to stay on program this weekend (weekends are tough for me, I get 3 days, and I tend to let myself have too many "treats").

I'm so glad I decided to come back to 3FC, thanks to you all.
