Do you eat anything with artificial sweeteners? There's been a lot of research in the past two to three years suggesting that they (Nutrasweet, Spelda and Equal) may lowered metabolic rate. I'm fairly sure the Special K bars contain acesulfame-k and Splenda (sucralose).
Other than that, I agree with everyone here. You have to eat enough to keep your body going and you have to keep your body guessing. Our metabolisms evolved to have highs and lows. That's why we store immediate energy in our muscles and long-term energy in fat cells. If you consistently give your body the exact same amount, it will adapt. |
Hey PayPay, you still with us? I was just wondering what you decided to do. Did you raise your calorie count yesterday? How do you feel? Keep coming back.

Why should you work this hard? Because if you don't you won't address whatever issues caused you to put the weight on in the first place and more than likely you will put on weight rather than even maintain. I used to be your weight and many time I gave up by thinking like you are. Please don't think like that. It's worth the effort and it's worth taking the tiem and effort to work out why you aren't losing. Be patient you will get there.
I don't know why you aren't losing - generally the first few weeks I lose weight quite easily (benefiting from that again at the moment after 2 and a half weeks on holiday last month) but I would guess like the others have said you're eating too few calories. You don't have to lower your calories so much to lose weight. Because you are heavier you have a higher BMR which means your body needs more food to function. You can use a BMR calculator like this to find otu how many calories your body needs http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ I would definatly go up to at least 1500 calories though. There could be other explanations too such as water retention (if you're eatign a lot of refinsed carbs you may be retainign water from that), starting exercise, etc. but I would say you're nto eating enough. I know it's hard to believe not eating enough will prevent weight loss and I still tend to eat too little still (aiming for 1600 calories at the moment, most days having 1300-1400) but 1200 really isn't enough in my opinion. |
Well just a little update! i increased my calories and decreased my exercise a little and i lost the weight i gained plus a extra 2 lbs so im super excited about it i hope that things keep getting better. thanks again!

That's fantastic :) Nothing is insurmountable as long as you keep trying :carrot:
