Echo, good look with your PHD revision!

I'm still sick (ugh). I was way under for calories yesterday and had a coke, whoops, so I'm feeling pretty off track. I feel a little better today than I did yesterday, so I'm hoping I'll be able to be back OP tomorrow and exercise again by Sunday.

Today:

B: 1 cup special k red berries with 1 cup soy milk, 1 banana, 4 oz orange juice

L: 1 nectarine, 4 soy nuggets

S: 1 tbsp peanut butter, 2 stalks celery

I haven't decided on dinner yet - it will probably depend on how I'm feeling in a few hours.

Work has been really busy this week and I did get walking in on all my breaks and at home I have been doing as much as I can of the callanetics routine, which is usually more than ten minutes but less than 30. I am sure if I keep at it I will be able to do the hour program within a few weeks.

Yesterday's menu:
coffee with creamer
gluten free snack bar

large salad with 2 tbsp reduced fat french and sprinkle of fat free cheese
several strawberries and a small handful of blueberries
water

low fat string cheese
water
diet pepsi

tuna on 1 slice gluten free bread
banana
2 hamburgers with american cheese
big handful of low fat gluten free cheese curls

*went over on calories by a couple hundred and I am okay with that as I had been under plan for several days

today's menu:
coffee with creamer
water

soft taco on corn tortilla
pear
milk
3/4 cup refried beans

1 small slice cheesecake with strawberries*oh man, bake sale at work and my boss bought me a thin slice because she knows its my fav dessert, ack!
water

herbal iced tea
water

I still have about 150 calories for the day and I might have veggies with dip or maybe some light yogurt with a handful of blueberries. I am down to 229 as of yesterday and that feels really good!!!

I am going grocery shopping this weekend and I usually dread the chore but I am looking forward to it. I have my list ready and I feel good that I will be buying healthy foods for myself. Like I mentioned before, I have become a fruit fanatic! hahaha.

I'm late to the game, but I was spending yesterday with my fam. :)

Yesterday's confessions:

All my food was homemade and I didn't know/do calorie calculations, so I practiced portion control and just ate until I was full.

Breffix - 2 soft rice cakes with lentil soup

Snack - 2 large pieces of cantaloupe

Lunch - 2 pieces lasagna, one tilapia (kinda sorta fried )

Dinner - spiced cauliflower, bean soup, rice and yogurt.

Exercise - 4.2 miles in the park. Lovely day and I had great convo with my sis. :)

No clue what my weight is, darn. There's an analog scale here but it shows 2 lbs less than the actual weight (I compared when I had my scale here). Thankfully, it reflects what my scale at home says, but it doesn't give me the 0.5, 0.6 part just 157 or 156. There's no middle with this scale.

Echo - good luck!! My friends who graduated told me to say I don't know, haha. The whole point of this is to admit you see the pitfalls of your study and to admit that even though you're getting this degree, you don't know everything. At least that's what I was told by an insider. :;):

Hydra - great job with the calories! You've been on a roll lately and that's awesome.

Angela - Good job on the day yesterday! It's always hard for me to be on track when I'm tired (dunno why, but it makes me snacky), so good for you! :)

Emily - feel better! That's great that even though you're sick, you're still on track regarding food. That's admirable! :)

Echo 09-26-2009 07:01 AM

Thanks Angela!! i appreciate that

Thanks Sunni !! that's really good advice! thank you for sharing it with me. makes sense!! and definately reassures me  i feel better now hehe.

I am feeling so much better this morning! Not 100%, but I got up early, took the dog for a walk, and vacuumed without feeling the need to collapse - woo.

I also stepped on the scale this morning and am down 3 more pounds to 285. I am sure this is from being sick, but it will definitely motivate me to keep up with things - and get back to exercising! - so I can keep the loss.

Cape Breton Chick 09-27-2009 08:12 AM

Hey Everyone... hope everyone is having a good weekend... yesterday was a blah day for me.. way tired and lazy.. but I stayed within calories at 1,723 so was hay with that... I finally have an exercise confession to make again after 4 days of sick house arrest - I walked 6 miles on the path that starts near my house (the trail actually said it was 8, but I'm a little skeptical that it was that long). The way back was super hard, but I'm happy I did it. It was nice to be outside on such a beautiful day.

Cape Breton Chick 09-27-2009 05:55 PM

Excited I found this thread!

Hi everyone!

I'm rejoining today after a long hiatus, and love the idea of being accountable to you for what I've eaten, this way, even on bad days (like today) I can face what I did in a supportive environment rather than hold it in feeling embarrassed and angry with myself.

I have been doing a lot of emotional digging the past few weeks, so am pretty "raw". After therapy today, after a great food day I came home and "blew it" but I picked myself up and came back here.

So here's my food for the day"

Soy milk with coffee, two tsp turbinado sugar
2 ryvita crackers with 1/2 tbs almond butter
1 tsp all fruit jam

Snack: one apple

lunch:
1.5 cup vegetarian chili
Green salad with 1/2 tbs blue cheese dressing
10 tortilla chips
1 tbs sour cream

HOME: Argh

TWO CUPS
Home made 3 bean salad:chickpeas, kidney and black beans, feta cheese, black olives, red peppers, red onions, arugula, olive oil, balsamic vinegar

Wild Rice: 2 cups

Dark chocolate: 5 small squares

Home made apple crisp: Turbinado sugar, apples, flour, oats, cinammon, 3/4 cup

MOOOO

I am now drinking Kombucha herbal tea and am totally done for the day, with a overblown sore stomach.

As you see, the quality of the food is not bad, I am vegetarian, and have healthy eating habits (barring chocolate, albeit dark, and apple crisp, which I never eat, but was on a roll...

I am looking forward to a better day tomorrow, with adequate portions.

I had been trying to stay within 1200 cals, but not sure if I can do that right now, so am going to allow myself to stay below 1500 starting tomorrow. I'm sure today I went over 2000.

Thank you for your bearing with me this first time posting!

Peace,

Claudia
