Okay everyone...I'm trying to figure out what body shape I am. I'm going back and forth between hourglass and apple. I have big boobs and big hips. I guess you can kinda see my waist, but now that I've been gaining weight I can't see a waist at all. My belly has always been a problem for me, but I probably look better from the side than straight on (stupid love handles). I ALWAYS get compliments on my legs (was a dancer).
When I gain weight....I gain on the boobs, neck, and stomach. When I lose it, those are the places I lose it. That would be apple shape then, right? But whenever I see pictures of shapes, I look more like an hourglass because my hips are pretty proportionate to my boobs (although right now my boobs are quite larger). When I'm at goal I guess I can see more of the hourglass shape. ANY CLUES??? (As if I haven't confused you enough already, LOL
Too funny! I always joked that I am a rectangle. Because my waist is kind of thick, while my chest and hips are about the same size. But now I come to find out that a rectangle/straight shape is real.
I was more of an hourglass when I was thinner, but I gained most of my weight in my belly and now I am rectangle/straight. It will be fun to see if my shape changes back as I keep losing. Great site, thank you for sharing!
Hahah that was funny, I'm an inverted triangle.. that's not good! Definitely true though, smaller on the bottom, bigger on top. But that's why I'm here, I guess lol.
To the OP: I think you sound more like an hourglass.
That calculator was interesting. Measurements always make me a pear, but visually I'm more of an hourglass. I figure I'm an hourglass-ish pear, or a pear-ish hourglass .
Most of these classifications seems to assume that either your shoulders and bust are small, or both are wide. But lots of women have narrow shoulders but a larger chest, or broader shoulders and smaller bust. I think shoulder width has more impact on whether you are visually hourglass or pear than bust size does.
