  • ...I've always heard of those mysterious people who go from super addicted to sweets/carbs to having no cravings for them. I've also heard about people who go from never eating veggies (willingly) to craving them and actually enjoying them.

Well girls, despite years of laughing at the notion that these types of people exist...it turns out I'm one of them!

It took over 4 months of eating healthy and trying new things but I have kicked the sugar cravings and have developed a taste for veggies! Even the one veggie I swore I'd never like, well, really it's a fruit, but you get the idea--Tomatoes!!! My mother is so proud! I throw veggies in everything! And I don't gag at the thought of trying dishes with tons of veggies in them whereas before, I'd nix them instantly.

Anyway, that is all. Just wanted to show that miracles really do happen in the weight loss world!
  • That is so awesome! That's proof that you've made some real life style changes and that your success will be long-lasting. YAY FOR YOU!
  • Wooo!! Congrats
  • Isn't that cool how that happens?!
  • wow! That is awexome. Veggies are tasty aren't they?
  • Great stuff! I'm also amazed how much my sweet tooth could change.
  • That is fantastic and such a great lifestyle change, too!

    Cheers,

    J
  • Congrats on liking tomatoes! lol I still gag when I try to eat them....
  • Awesome!
  • That is so cool!
  • I agree. I have always hated raw onions and tomatoes, I do like them cooked.

But I have found myself eating more of these two things in the raw! I actually found that I like red onions and sweet onions as long as they are thinly sliced and they have to be on something like a sandwich or something. And the tomatoes I ate in some fresh pico de gallo (with raw onions in it too ). I cant see myself eating plain raw onions or tomatoes by them selves but hey at least its a start.
  • Wow, you just made me want to try a tomato, which is my all time most hated raw veggie. It makes me think that if I could like tomatoes after so many years of hating them, then I just might be willing to taste a banana, my most hated fruit.

I love that I've stopped craving sugar and now crave things like berries, grapes, zucchini, and recently raw broccoli. Simply amazing!
  • Locally grown cherry tomatoes are better than candy!
  • There is nothing better than a fresh vine ripened organic tomato just off the vine that you've grown yourself. However the tomatos you get in the store and anywhere else taste like crap and have no texture, you might as well eat rubber. Go to the famrer's market and get a tomato, you will be raising your own after that.

  • Congrats, crazymama!

And.. I agree Bette! There is NO comparison there.. I can't stand the tomatoes in the store or at restaurants. I can eat the ones out of the garden like an apple, though! BTW.. I am in Iowa, too!
