Body Fat / Time of Day on crappy scales

  • Hi everyone -

I have one of the older Tanita scales that does not have hydration output. I know the Body Fat testing on these scales is wildly inaccurate, but I was wondering if anyone figured out the best time of day is for more accuracy?

I hardly pay attention to the numbers because I will step on 5 times in a row and get a different number each time, but I figured someone must have compared the scale reading at different times of day to some otherwise known BF measurement.

I probably should just continue ignoring that number. I plan on getting it dunk tested but not until I'm much closer to goal...
  • I dunno but I'm having the same problem as you.
I'd like to see what other people say too.
  • I have a Tanita. The morning right after I wake up, before I eat breakfast seems to be the most accurate as far as the fat percentage and weight being consistent if I check it a couple of times. (the fat percentage just about matches the figure I get if I plug in my statistics to a calculator)
