I have no rules. When I first hit a low weight, that's my new official weight. I have no official weigh-in day. I generally get on the scale between 1-3 times a week. I feel like, if I hit it, I own it. :) That's what kept me sane through my 3-month stall. I'd hit 272-ish then my scale jumped around the 270s and 280s for 3 months, but I never changed my ticker. EVENTUALLY the stall broke...but I refused to give up my 272 because the weightloss gods were against me.

I'm with Amanda. The only time I really check a sidebar, is when I'm giving advice. I think it does help to know where the OP is on their journey. How much they started out and where they currently are - and even their height is a factor. Kiramira, yes LoriBells' ticker is one that I happened to notice. And she wasn't even the OP. But even is she was, I usually don't glance at Lori's, since I do remember (appox) where she started out, but for some reason I happened to notice it - and I'm glad I did. I couldn't wait to congratulate her and give her the recognition that she so rightly deserves. |
Yep, I change mine weekly. If I'm up a pound or so I might not change it because it could be to water flux but if it continues for more then a week or so I'll up the ticker. I find it very satisfying to change the ticker down each Monday though!

I move my ticker, but i lose weight so slow it may look like it never moves.

Jacque, I know it doesn't look like we posted at the same time, but we did! I had the reply to you typed out, walked away from the computer, got back to the computer sometime later, didn't look for any new responses - and just hit the reply button.
Thread can resume now. :) |
The more I think on this, the more I am convinced that this thread doesn't fit with what we do in Weight Loss Support...support people...so I am going to close it. The fear that having had less success than some other members makes one's advice on the board less accepted or considered has led to a lot of hurt feelings in the past, causing members to leave for good, or to leave and come back under new usernames to escape their "lack of success".
The bottom line is that everyone here, even a person on day 1 of their journey, has something to offer, and that no change of weight, or lack thereof, makes that something any less worthy of being listened to. |
