Counting the hours...
:carrot: 36 hours. no junk. I just need to make it 3.5 hours more to get passed the next hump.
I am sooooooooo counting the hours..... I rode my bike for the first time in 4 years. Im sore this AM but, it felt great to ride |
That's GREAT news! Hang tough. You'll get there. You'll get there.
Getting rid of the junk was thee best thing I've ever done for myself. It's *junk* and I finally realized I deserve better! Make sure that when you are getting rid of the *junk* that you ADD in good healthy DELICIOUS foods. Eating often is also a good idea, so that you avoid getting too hungry. You can do this. Just keep at it. You won't regret it for a teeny, tiny second. :) |
Oh man, I'm right there with you. I gave up junk a couple of weeks ago, and it can be done, but there are some rough spots. Hang in there, you CAN DO IT. Just remember, the harder it is, the more that's evidence that you really need to kick it to the curb.
Last night as I was unpacking (we just moved) I found an old journal from 2001 where I was trying to give up junk...except for biscotti...or one frozen yogurt a week.... or one soda a day.... etc, etc! I spent a lot of time and energy trying to somehow fit just a bit in. Well here I am, 8 years later, and I wish I could go back and tell myself that trying to fit in a weekly treat or a daily soda, is futile. Any food that pulls me, calls my name, or reaches out from the pantry every time I pass by has to go. |
I hear you, and congrats!
There are days when it really helps me to say to myself, just get through this night sticking to plan, concentrate on that. |
congrats!! thats a hard thing to do!
|
Wow, major congrats to both of you.
I got a week of no sugar done, but it's calling really loud. Tell me, at what point does it stopped calling? |

Remember, just because it's calling, doesn't mean you have to answer. This is one instance where ist's more then okay to be rude. ;) But really, hang tight. Do whatever you've got to do to not give into it. That one bite and you're back at square one again. I kid you not. Stick to your guns. Because it's so worth it. It was a miracle and a half to me. |

Thanks everyone. I made it. 7 more hours and then faultered. A friend surprised me with cupcakes. :( She looked so hurt when i said no thank you. So I had a taste. She ended up sending some home with me and it was gobble gobble. That was last night and today same ol same ol. But, I'm done now. The rest of the day doesn't have to be like this. The rest of the night either. I have learned from this that 1. hour by hour goal is the best approach for me right now. 2. I need to come up with a plan for people who don't understand or for people I don't want to tell that I can't have a taste because it never stops there. Any ideas anyone?
-------- it's been 30 minutes since my last fix (no, not fix...faulter) my goal is to make it 5 hours san cookies, candies, junk, rediculous or rediculous mounds and mounds of carbs. I'm like that little engine...chug chug chug... |
