Weight going up??

  • I haven't broken my diet at all. I'm working like a dog on exercising everyday to Tae bo.

My AF isn't due till 6/21 but I've gained a pound this week. I've lost 2.5 inches since last week though
do you start retaining water before the big day? This will be my #2 AF since having my baby (he's 6 months).
    what gives?
  • I think it's different for everyone, but I tend to either gain a little or just not lose about a week before it starts. And if you are building a lot of muscle, remember that it weighs a lot so it makes sense that you are seeing results on your body but not necessarily on the scale. Just keep at what you're doing, you'll be fine.

Congrats on the baby! I've got one about a month older than yours.
  • Between your cycle coming up and the exercise, it could be water weight.
I will gain sometimes 4-5 pounds int he two weeks before my period. It all comes off in the first day or two.

I agree. Keep doing what you're doing and don't sweat the water fluctuations!
  • I haven't read Tom Venuto for a while but as I recall .... He wants us to measure and weigh. If we really have no change after 2 weeks then we should change something.

So ... what's happening to you is perfectly natural and ... since you're shrinking ... You're doing just fine.
  • Don't panic (hard not to I know) but as you continue your journey this WILL happen from time to time. It's most likely the exercise. I gained almost 3 lbs. when I added weight training 3 weeks ago. I just about have that weight off now but man, at the time I was really ticked! I've lost another 1/2 inch off my waist in that time too so I won't be giving up the weight training!

I keep a log of all these little fluctuations etc. so that I can see the pattern over time and not get freaked out when it happens, you know? I did freak out over the 3 lbs. but kept going. If you keep going with exercise and watching your calories, success is inevitable.
  • I'd say one pound isn't much to worry about- keep at it and I'm sure after your period you'll go down past that one pound and then some
