5K ~ FATHER'S DAY ~ 5K...Just Do It!
 

:) FATHER'S DAY 5K :)

June 21st is FATHER'S DAY so what better way to honor your father by doing something good for yourself!

I know some fathers :hug: hug us ~ some are :mad: mean to us ~ some dad's are :cool: way cool ~ some are :?: confused ~ some dads are :s: sneaky ~ some fathers :listen: listen to us ~ some just :drill: yell.

Many dads :rolleyes: don't buy into our stories ;) ~ some are jokesters :joker: ~ there are ones that :judge: judge us too harshly and those that :nose: lie to us.

We know fathers that :soap: preach to us ~ are :twirly: squirrely ~ :cheer3: cheer us on ~ :mag: inspect our every move ~ :dance: dance at our weddings.

Some have nothing good to say :tape: ~ others leaves us feeling like we are on :cloud9: cloud 9. Unfortunately some are a :bomb: time bomb waiting to happen and always :devil:

Some are :yikes: scary :dracula: Some are :clause: Santa Clauses ~ Many are just flat out :turkey: turkeys. I know a few that :jig: monkey around.

Many of us wish :wizard: we had our dads back :angel: some of us wish we never had one :devil:

Some dads were with us every :running: step of the way ~ others just :wizard: vanished into thin air.

We are all in different situations with our fathers but one thing is sure...we all had one. Many of those we call "dad" are not really our fathers.

So let's take time to honor the men that raised us or take time to congratulate ourselves for surviving our fathers! :bravo:

RULES ~

For those of you traveling here for the first time let us explain our rules....WE HAVE NONE!

We take time a few times a year to get up and move and do something good for us.

Grab that dad/husband/uncle and kids if you can and take nice walk ~ hike to a park ~ jump on the treadmill if you need to ~ walk around the block ~ the mall ~ the high school track ~ take a trip to the zoo

Talk :sssh: dad into that much needed exercise ;)

You may do this 5K on Flag Day if you wish or Mindy's :bday2: We don't care when you do it...it's about you getting up and going and taking as many people :grouphug: with you as you can :)

A sign up list will follow and a results thread will be posted after the times start coming in ~ GOOD LUCK!

Gary, I am still millions of light years from running again (will I ever? this plantar fasciitis seems to be never ending) but I started swimming again so please sign me up for three 50-minute sessions of laps.
