yeah just weight you want to be X 10 doesn't seem right to me... I want to be 140 lbs, if I eat 1400 calories a day right now I'll be STARVING.
The formula my old trainer gave was weight X 10 X .75 to lose weight. So if you are 215 lbs you do 215 X 10 X .75 = 1612.5 calories. I find that I eat between 1575 and 1650 calories a day- so that seemed about right to me. When I was eating 1200-1500 a day I was STARVING. |
Hmm, if that was the case then I need to eat 2,197.5 calories a day...:?:

I have no idea... Today is day 1 of actually tracking what i eat on average a day. So far it's a very small breakfast and no wonder I am always hungry less than an hour later! It's only 386 calories I am eating! According to Go Ask Alice! it says between 350 and 500 and if I have to eat as much as the calculations say I should be on the upper part of that, not the lower... I'm about to figure out what I am having for lunch now... I'm so glad tomorrow is Thursday (I get my weekly grocery money from my payee) so I can get more food. I don't have much left... Well, I'll see what I end up with today... I'm gonna try and eat before I think so I get better results and not try and modify what I eat so I know what I have been eating before today if that makes any sense...
P.S. Sorry if this is a bit off-topic... But thanks for the help since I was wondering that as well... Haven't seen the show but saw someone mentioning this... |

Did anyone see the Potato skins swap out made with the sweet potatoes? I don't know if I would eat that or not. I LOVE potatoes skins I just don't know if what they made would be a good sub, the jury is still out on whether I like sweet potatoes or not...lol My husband is not a fan of sweet potatoes but he thought they looked good.

My husband likes sweet potatoes...but not with a meal. We went to a steakhouse and he had a baked sweet potato with the meal, and it just wasn't right to him. I've never really tried it...

My trainer used to take very large clients as well, he had a man that was 350 lbs and was eating 1400 calories a day and not losing an ounce- he told that man to switch up to 2500 a day and the weight started coming up. Everytime he lost like 10-20 lbs they would recalculate and lower the calorie count. So take what you used to eat on an average day (and be honest with yourself) then see if eating that 2200 calories a day really is going to be a lot less than you used to it- if it's not, try 1500-1800 a day, I think that's a good amount for most people. |
I made the mashed potatoes with cauliflower for dinner and my boyfriend LOVED them. They were really creamy and while I could taste a hint of cauliflower, my BF did not notice it at all.
I too think their calorie equation is a bit wonky. There is no way I could be happy with 1400 calories/day. I do like how they help you realize just how many calories you can mindlessly eat in a day and not realize it. Just knowing the calorie count of a food can help reduce my craving for it. |
I just wanted to say that I tried the recipe for their Mango-Glazed Salmon the other night and it was AWESOME! It was really delicious. My husband enjoyed it as well but thought it was a little heavy on the ginger. That was probably my fault because I didn't really measure it very closely and because I didn't strain it out like the recipe calls for - I just grated it into the sauce rather than chop it. But it was still really, really good. I give it two thumbs up!
