The one thing that's made me stick to my plan for almost three years now? It's very hard to pinpoint one thing. Hmmmm.

Fear. I was afraid I wouldn't live much longer and there would be no one to look after my daughters. I was certain that it was only a matter of when, not if, I was going to either drop dead from a heart attack or develop some deadly totally avoidable disease.

Quality of life. I was miserable. Just miserable. I was barely living, so in actuality I was dying. Every day was torturous for me. I was terribly, terribly unhappy and it was all directly related to my being morbidly obese. I was missing out on so much. Every day was - hard. Really, really hard. I simply could not take going on like that any more.
So, I made the decision to change it, since it was something that I had the power to change. I *finally* realized that I didn't have to be fat if I didn't want to be. So, I made the commitment to do what is necessary to lose the weight - and keep it off. I made a plan, made it work for me - and stuck to it.
Losing weight really and truly is a doable thing. You just need to want to do it very, very badly. The desire to be thin must outweigh the desire for the food. And when that happens, sticking with a plan - is a whole lot easier.
