Lacking motivation

I havent been able to make it to the gym lately (in a little over a week) i know i need to go. but for some reason i feel that i have grown comfortable not going, and now i cant force myself to go! i know i need to! and i want to! i just... have been taken over by this wave of laziness. and my food habits are slipping too... i NEED to get back on track to my steady weight loss and good weeks. i just had a really bad couple of weeks. and i feel like now i cant get control over it!

you can do it, ... just jump back on the wagon and hang on.... i go to the gym first thing in the morning after i drop my daughter off at school, that way it's out of the way for the day.

I agree with Savora, jump back into your routine. However if you really feel you don't want to go to the gym, you can have a really good work out in your house. Pop in an exercise DVD. You can do it!!!

Sometimes you just have to click on your auto-pilot and go. Make an appointment with yourself and no matter how many times you hear the voice in your head saying you don't want to go, tell that voice "it's not an option" after a few times, you'll feel the desire again :)

Just put your exercise clothes on tomorrow and go to the gym. PERIOD.

It gets easier :)

I found myself feeling the same way after not going to the gym for a few days. What worked for me was switching up my routine. I'll get bored with one kind of exercise and feel trapped if I do the same thing every day. So now instead of going to the gym every day, I'll go on Monday, play tennis on Tuesday, do crunches in my living room on Wednesday, etc. I find other ways to get my exercise in so I don't feel like a slave to my workout routine. :)

I love how you put things here: make an appointment with yourself. ;)

Yes, do it, get a small reward (preferably non food), like a couple hours off work, or a trip to the beautician or anything else you might like, rest a while...and then restart.

Go you!

I always say, it isn't MOTIVATION that gets you through...that comes and goes and is generally pretty fickle. It's COMMITMENT that powers you through and gets you to your goal.
