Hi there!
Hey everyone! My name is Amy and I stumbled on this thread because I saw that my friend Zoe was here! I think she is great so I figured there must be some other wonderful people here too!
I am 34 years old, mommy with an almost-3 year old and a 5 year old and a husband and a dog and job and a great church and a great family and great friends..... WHEEW! I am tired already!! But the Lord has blessed me so much and I am trying to honor Him by taking better care of myself. I started out at 227 and I am down to 191. I have a long way to go, but I am closer than I was 4 months ago. I have a few medical issues that make it a little more of a challenge for me (Hashimoto's thyroiditus, insulin-resistance, PCOS, blah blah blah!), but with God's help I will keep trying. :strong: Well, I hope to get to know all of you and be a part of this great group. I need all the encouragement and support I can get! Have a wonderful day!! |
Good morning!!!
Welcome Amy!!!!! Glad to see you here. And congrats on losing 30+ pounds! This thread is known for wonderful fellowship and encouragement, we love Zoe here too! Another busy day here, so I just thought I would check in and say hello. I will respond to posts later. Have a great day. Ginny |
Tuesday Evening
:spin: Hi Ladies--
How are you all doing today? I am getting so excited because my daughter will be home from school on Wed. night!! Next year school is mucho closer. Hey GINNY Congrats on the K's your DD had-- sounds like a great season-- I forgot to reply-- my step-D is in the ASA fastpitch-- B (rec? ball) division. We have our state tourney in the middle of July and the Nationals in August-- her coach says they will probably be invited back to nationals even if they don't win state or get in through the back door ( do you have that?) because they won it last year. She is lead off hitter and centerfielder. They lost in the semis of this last tournament but won the other 2 so far. JOANNE - Sorry about your aunt, that farm and grandkids must keep you very busy. WILMA - Hey girl stay AWAY from those weiners!!! I just read an article that said forget moderation in hot dogs, smoking and heroin!! OUCH!! to all us hot dog lovers. I have been praying and reading about the missionaries, sorry. SUE - You are such a positve person!!! I am proud of your attitude!! You must have had great parents as you say. AMY - Welcome, welcome, I also confirm that we love ZOE her oops , (here). Gotta go girls-- In Christ- Gary |

I want to lose 70 lbs by June 2003 when my oldest daughter get married (her MIL to be is about 105) I work full time for Target as a Team Leader (target word) I have been with Target for almost 18 yrs and I think they are a great company to work for. I will start at a Super Target on Monday and will have 350 people to get to know!!! I have several health problems High blood pressure and diabetic I also have back pain so bad it makes it hard to work out (I get my test results back tue from my MRI) EZ-enjoy your time with your kids. Summer passes fast. Amy-A BIG WELCOME.....You have found a great group who really care for each other. Wilma-Are prayers are with the families. I know God has a reason we may not know why but God does. JoAnn-Sorry to hear about your Aunt I know God has called her home and out of pain and that has brought you peace. Ginny-As sad as it is to see kids lose I think it is good for them to see that they can still take pride in how they played and losing is not the end of the world. I have a friend who is so ugly in the stands yelling and complaining that when her kids lose they cry and are really down and I think that is sad. I am sorry if I have missed anyone It is hard to get caught up. Prayer to all, Sami |
Hi ya!
It appears to be a rainy day this morning, HI AMY AND WELCOME ZOE IS GREAT, THE GROUP HERE IS ALWAYS SUPPORTIVE AND UPLIFTING. THANKS WILMA, I HAVE TRYED TO KEEP UP WITH THAT MISSIONARY STORY SINCE IT WAS FEATURED ON DATELINE OR WHATEVER, IT IS SO SAD. i ALSO RECIEVE THE VOICE OF THE MARTYRS MAGAZINE WHICH COVERS ALOT OF THAT TYPE STUFF. I LOVE THE LORD BUT WONDER SOMETIMES, IF THE IT MENT LIFE AND DEATH FOR WHAT YOU SAY AND DO, WOULD I BE AS OUTSPOKEN FOR CHRIST AS I AM HERE IN THE STATES. IT IS SAD, BUT I AM FORCED TO THINK PROBABLY NOT. tHERE IS ALSO A GOOD BOOK CALLED JESUS FREAKS, WHICH WAS CO-AUTHORED BY VOICE OF THE MARTYRS AND THE CHRISTIAN ROCK BAND D.C. TALK.WHICH IS REALLY GOOD! [COLOR=blue]HI E-Z AND SAMI, AND E.C.MOM- MY PARENTS WERE GREAT, THEY ALWAYS PUT US KIDS BEFORE THEMSELVES. tHEY WERE ALWAYS WILLING TO LISTEN, BUT WE WERE ALSO RAISED WITH DISCIPLINE, AND CHORES AROUND THE HOUSE. WHAT WE LACKED FOR IN MATERIAL THINGS WAS MADE UP FOR WITH LOVE. WHICH IS MORE ESSENTIAL ANYWAY.

CONTINUED-
Hi it is me again! MY PARENTS ALWAYS PUT ME AND MY SIBLINGS FIRST, NEVER WENT ON VACATION WITHOUT US. WE SPENT ALOT OF TIME IN FAMILY TIME, FISHING, CAMPING GARDENING. ECT. THEY NOW CURRENTLY HAVE A CAMPER THAT IS ON SITE RIGHT BEHIND MINE, SO WE SPEND TIME AT CAMP (WITH ALOT MORE MODERN CONVENIENCES NOW) SORT OF LIKE WE DID YEARS AGO. iT IS GREAT, AND i CHERISH THEM SO MUCH, THEY ARE STILL RELATIVELY YOUNG MY MOM IS 62 AND MY DAD IS 64. THEY ARE BOTH RETIRED! WELL GEE I THINK I GAVE YA MY LIFE'S STORY. HOPE IT WASN'T TOO BORING! HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! CATCH YA TOM!
hI YA ZOE! WHERE YA AT, LOST IN CYBERSPACE SOMEWHERE! DIDN'T WANT TO FORGET YA, HI TO ANYONE ELSE I MISSED. |
Good Morning
GOOD MORNING (here in sunny-- o.k., it's overcast--California)
I am taking a few minutes to check in before I go get 2 root canals:( I am not looking forward to. What a way to get the day off work!! SAMI I know a whole bunch of kids that work at the Target near us-- they love it too-- actually they are from a family of 11-- YES--11 kids. Mostly boys-- maybe we should get together and set them up with your girls:lol: .SUE -Iam so glad you had such a great time with your parents-- I did too, although my dad worked alot, my mom did not and we lived very simply-- I think most people did back then. I think overall it was better times-- or maybe it is just because I was a kid. Well gotta go see the dentist:mad: ALL OF YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY--IN HIS ARMS-Gary |
Good Morning! It's a dreary day here again. I need to see the sun!! It's also dreary in my heart today. I got to work and heard some bad news that got to me. First, my boss's mother died - she had been quite sick but it was hard none the less. Second, a co-worker who had trouble getting pregnant and then finally did has just found out that her baby has a rare kidney disease along with underdeveloped lungs. It may not survive the pregnancy. She is absolutely devastated and I feel so bad for her. Please pray for all of us.
I do want to thank you all for your prayers for the Burnhams. They really need it. Amy: WELCOME!! We love Zoe too!! You've been doing great with your weight loss. This is a great forum for encouragement. Gary: Hot dogs and Heroin??:?: I guess it's a good thing that I don't eat them very often. Sami: Climb back on that wagon, girl! We're here to help you back on!! Praying for you! Doiforme: You have a great heritage in your parents. I hope you know how blessed you are!! Hello to all I've missed. Please come back and talk to us. We miss you and need you here!! |
Hey y'all!
Wow! What a welcome! You guys are all so friendly. It is such a nice thing to know there are people out there in "cyber space" that can relate to the challenges I am going through and we can lift each other up.
It is a beautiful day here in Atlanta. It isn't as humid as it has been so the heat doesn't seem too bad. And even though I am stuck in this office all day my window looks right outside so I can enjoy the sunshine:cool: wilma12 - my boss's mother also died recently - last month. She had been in the hospital for a month before that. It has been very stressful for him also. I am so sorry for what your co-worker is going through with her baby. It really is a miracle from God to have a healthy baby and I am so thankful for my 2! Gary - guess what? my husband's name is Gary too! what a great name! I hope your "dental day" goes well and that you aren't too uncomfortable. I don't know what hurts worse - the root canal or paying for it when you get the bill!! doitforme - I can totally relate to having the blessing of such wonderful parents. My parents are amazing. I could write a book about how much they have done for me and how much I love them (but I won't do that here!) Did you know how great they were when you were young or were you like me and figured it out after I grew up a little bit? sami - you are my hero! I feel overwhelmed sometimes with only 2 children and you have 6!! Plus you work at Target - my favorite store in the world! Do you get an employee discount?:dizzy: I think you will be my new best friend! ECmom - one of my oldest and dearest friends is named Ginny. Her full name is Virginia - is that yours too? We have been friends since we were in the 3rd grade! I already like you because of your wonderful name. ;) Well I guess I will get to work now. Hope you all have a BLESSED day! P.S. - Hey ZOE are you out there today? Be sure and say hi! |
ROOT CANAL SUCCESS
Well everyone I made it through 2 root canals with little discomfort-- of course my mouth is still numb! Now for the bill:eek: Oh well, at least insurance helps some.
WILMA -I hope I didn't offend you with the heroine reference-- the article was just trying to stress the importance of staying away from unhealthy food. SAMI- Boy do I know how fast the summer goes-- why are the winters sooo long-- even here where it doesn't freeze? Amy I hope even though you live in Atlanta you root for the Dodgers and not those pesky Braves. SUE - Hey girl, life stories are never boring!! Hi to everyone else-- off to mow the grass or take a nap as this mouth comes back to life. IN HIS LOVE-Gary |
No, Gary, you didn't offend me with that remark. It does make one think though about the damage of the stuff (even food) that we put into our bodies. We should be much more selective in what we eat!!

Hello my friends....wow, I think I've not posted in DAYS and I don't know why. There are so many posts here that I barely scanned through so I'll need to go back and re-read them all.
AMY!!!! So glad to see you here girl!! I'm glad that you found your way to our small yet close nit group. I know that you'll love it here too. Gary ~ glad you made it through you root canals...(wow, 2 of them!!! YIKES!) I hope you have a gentle dentist. I have a wonderful dentist, he caters to cowards and that's me!! He's a Christian and plays Christian radio (contemporary music) in the waiting room. He is some-what known as he wrote a book years ago, putting the talk shows down (mostly the Phil Donahue show) and became known that way. Anyway, hope by now the numbness is gone and there isn't any pain. I haven't any time right now to address everyone but want to say that I feel so special reading all the "we love Zoe too's". :D:D awwww. thanks guys. :D Talk to you all later. In Christ, Zoe <>< |
Hi Kids!
I want to welcome Amy, it is great having new people join in. Wilma, I pray for your boss and co-worker, that the baby is healed, and peace is given to your boss. It makes for a really rough, depressing time at work.
Gary sorry to hear about the teeth, Hope your not in too much pain. The numbness after, where your lip feels like its laying on your chin is what I can't stand. You worry your drooling and just don't know it. Yuck! I think that generation all grew up in simplar times. Kids didn't have phones in their rooms t.v.s or v.c.r.s. so there was more family time, which is the way it should be. Amy- I always loved my parents, when I was yournger, I thought they weren't cool enough to hang out with, but now I treasure them, and love to spend time with them. I have to work a double both sat, sun. So I won't even make it to church this weekend. I am off next week and will be camping all week with my wonderful parents sister, bil, niece and nephew. Lots of pool time with the kids. I will pop in mon. before I leave. Pray you all have a great weekend. God Bless! Hi to all I missed ! |
Blessing to all,
I have been busy getting my lose ends tied up before I start my new job. I am working on a new diet plan. This eating right makes sense but do I follow it? SOMETIMES I am trying to find out why I keep jumping off the wagon................I really want to lose weight but I am not follow through WHY? And when I eat wrong I feel bad so why do I keep doing this? I know my biggest problem is I don't exercise. Part of the reason I don't is the pain in my back and legs but I know if I would just make myself do it I would get better. Pray for me to reach that point. EZ-I have a friend here that has 10 kids. There house is a lot of fun! Doitforme-I think you are right. I didn't have a tv in my room and I was 16 before I had a radio! I made us spent family time together. Zoe-We miss you when you have been gone!!!!!! How are you doing? Amy-I do get a discount but trust me my husband wishes they would band me from buying LOL. Wilma-My heart goes out for the family with the sick baby. And praers for your boss. Do the weight lifting help your upper arms? I need something for that. I am praying that you have an OP day! sami |
Hi! I won't be on here long. I'm suffering from a severe headache and need to get some rest. It's been a busy week and next week will be even busier with DS's grad next Friday. i'm looking forward to the 22nd when I can relax again.
Sami: I feel that the weights are helping me. I feel the muscles toning in my arms and legs. Go to Prevention.com and look for the 8 minutes in the morning link. They have a week's worth of exercises to try. I really enjoy doing them and don't find them really difficult to do. Doitforme: Have a great time camping with your family. I sure wish I could do that this weekend. Zoe: Looking forward to hearing more from you. How're you doing? Gary: How's the mouth? I've never had a root canal but DH has and it seems painful. Have a great day! |
