I just had this happen!! Someone brought in a little plastic tub of Trader Joe’s Caramel Cashew Cookies. I often wander the aisles of Trader Joe’s and kinda wish I could try all of their amazing products. I know it would be a very bad idea to take a tub of cookies home, so I never buy them. I read the back of the cookies at work – 3 cookies for 140 calories. One cookie is only about 45 calories (they are very small, like 1.5” across) so not so bad at all. I thought I would have one cookie with my cup of tea and get a chance to taste one with a minor calorie hit. I sat down, took a small bite and thought “wow, that is SWEET.” I took a sip of tea, took another small bite (about half the cookie gone) and thought – “wow, this is SWEET, this isn’t that great.” Then – I threw the other half of the cookie away.
This is big for me, because normally I stop when something is gone. I’m really trying to pay attention and not eat things I don’t like – ESPECIALLY treat items. If I go offplan (or plan to go offplan, if that makes sense), it had BETTER be worth it!
