starting a plan

  • So I got some ww points books from my niece.
I know the idea is to let people eat what they want and have nothing truly taboo, but reward healthy choices.
I want to plan for my fats to be the healthy ones, (avocados, olive oil, fish oils etc) and using whole grains and lots of veggies.
It seems a little easier than strict calorie counting, but can keep me in the frame. thanks to those who have given opinions, I will keep asking for guidance, and I appreciate the collective wisdom I find here.
I'm quite excited about starting this!
  • That's great! WW is a very sensible program. Good luck!
  • I love WW. I have tried other plans in the past, but got frustrated with the restrictions involved after 3-4 months and went back to eating "normally". I regained all the weight. Since starting WW, I have been on plan for 7.5 months and have lost 60 lbs!! Figuring out points can be a bit of a chore at first, but I quickly learned the points value of the food I eat all the time, so it became second nature to me.

    You'll do great!!!
  • good luck!
  • thanks for the boost!. I read in Scientific American that writing down what we eat doubles our weight loss.
I started a food diary when I first came to 3FC and it helped me reduce my food portions and get sensible.
So I will do the writing as I get a handle on the points, and double my fun!
