Fat Tuesday
 

Okay, it's FAT TUESDAY and someone brought in 3 boxes of donuts at work. I haven't had one but it's really hard to smell them since they are a few feet away from me. Is anyone else going through this today? :(

I lived in PA (near Lanc Co) and Fat Tuesday was Fasnaucht Day. Fasnauchts are these yummy "donuts" made with potatoes and LARD. Don't miss them too much. But my kids and I always did the King Cake with the hidden baby but not this year. I've been thinking about it for a week knowing it was coming up. ::sigh:: It's all good...

I've been to the Lancaster area of PA and I liked it there. All the Amish people and those good Amish restaurants! Yum!

Oh yes... it's Paczki Day here! I indulged in one but I worked it into my plan for the day ahead of time. I don't usually like pastries but these were a big part of my grandfather's heritage and I can't help but have one in his honor every year! ;)

hmm... bump them into the trash maybe? hahaha

O K I've been wanting a donut for a few days! So what did I do? Ate a lot of sweets I shouldn't have. One donut, counted into my points would have satisfied me and the rest of the 'junk' wouldn't have passed my lips and landed on my hips! Have one and get it over with!

I grew up in Lancaster County, and today I was lamenting the lack of fastnachts in the southwest. It's either a good thing, or will turn into my excuse to buy a donut. We shall see... =)

Gosh I didn't even think about it being fat Tuesday until I saw this thread...last year I was already going on my plan, so I was good, but the year before I remember getting drunk and eating a deep fat fried buffet of junk food. I remember feeling like crap all the next day and skipping Ash Wednesday service at church because I felt so guilty....Oh to be free!!!
