Sorry, I'm invading your space gentlemen, but I like reading the male perspective, and when I saw how many calories Jeremy is eating, I couldn't keep my mouth shut. You need more food. I lost 50 pounds in 5 months on 1500 calories a day and I am 5'7" and female. It doesn't matter if you are not hungry, you need more calories...especially with the sudden, intense workouts. The reason you are stalling is most likely that your body is going into panic mode and is conserving as much of its energy as possible...eventually you will lose weight, of course, because, in essence, you are starving, but it will happen MUCH more slowly than it would if you were eating in your proper calorie range, and you're metabolism will drop drastically in the process and maintenance will be extremely difficult. My husband, who is 6'2" has lost 53 pounds in the last six months on 2200 a day. Get on a good calorie calculator and then just drop 500-1000 calories from that to figure out what to eat -- I bet you will be in AT LEAST the 1800 range and probably closer to 2000. If you don't fix this, I'm afraid you are going to be really, really sorry. OK, I'll shut up now...sorry for highjacking guys... :)

Hey guys, just thought I would drop by this thread. Was trying to figure out if there were any other guys ibn this forum. I guess this answers that question. I am on the You:You on a Diet Plan and since it isn't about counting calories I can only guess that I am right around 2000 a day. Dropped a good amount of weight in the first 3 weeks and am just starting my 4th week now.

Talk later

Hey slimmingsi, the book is called You: On A Diet - The Owners Manual For Waist Management. In a way it is just a common sense sort of plan, there is a section of the forum for it under the diet plans. It is by far the smallest portion of the forum.

The book book basically goes into body and brain anatomy and explains why we get hungry and what our body does with food. Other programs I have been on give a basic over view of biology but this one goes into it in some depth. For some reason that has helped me to be more motivated.

The plan itself is pretty typical. Eating 5-6 times a day, lots of fruit and veggies and strictly prohibits sugar, corn syrup, and other simple sugars. It promotes eating nuts every day as well as minimum of 30 mins of exercise a day. Instead of counting calories you just eat the allowable foods and listen to our body to determine how full you are and get used to obtaining that comfortable amount of full rather than stuffed.

Seems to be working for me so far and I never seem to be hungry on this eating plan. My cravings for the bad foods have pretty much disappeared as well. So the books promise that the plan can change your brain chemistry to help you eat and choose proper food seems to be true. The good thing about it is this is the most motivated I have ever been after 3 weeks on a plan so I am looking forward to it staying that way.
