Great work-out or distraction songs?
Hi everyone,
I must say that I have a new addiction.....my i-pod! I love to take it on my walks....its a great companion on loong walks. I also have a dance playlist and its great when I can't get outside....it really shifts my mood. I recently started a play-list to help with night-time eating....it's a great distraction, especially Faith Hill's song, Breathe which helps to remind me to BREATHE! How about you? Any moving, inspiiring or helpful songs? My mantra for this year is Just Fine in 'o9! by MJ Blige...it's worth checking out on you tube IMHO! Just fine, thinkerbell |
i usually work out to limp biskit and icp and stuff... i also listen to alot of that hip hop stuff because it keeps me moving.. break stuff by limp biskit is an excellent song to make me feel motivated.. but beware these artists use severe vulgar language!

Thanks katiejames......and thanks for the warning!
One of my top weight loss motivation songs is an old one by Whitney houston....step by Step...it's a great walking song....and Melissa Ethridge's I Run for Life is another great walking song which makes me feel like running! thinkerbell |
Here's my current workout playlist:
Black eyed Peas - Let's Get it Started Kanye West – Stronger Mika – Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) Wreckx-n-Effect – Rump Shaker – (ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM) Ok Go – Here It Goes Again (if those guys can dance on the treadmills, I can at the very least walk on them briskly) Missy Elliot - Shake Your Pom Pom (hilarious) Robert Randolph & the Family Band - Aint Nothing Wrong With That (funky and stompy!) Lee Coulter - Booty Voodoo My Big O (I Can) - Johanna Stahley (theme to Ruby) Fefe Dobson - Watch Me Move Kaiser Chiefs - Never Miss a Beat Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) Show Me The Money - Petey Pabloe Where Are We Running - Lenny Kravitz TeddyBears – Cobrastyle M.C. Generally I am not very fond of any music swifted away into a category of 'workout songs'... Don't get me wrong, music is easily the biggest workout tool I have, but I just don't set aside music specifically for working out. I listen to the same music that I enjoy all the time..
Anyway, personally I am a fan of various types of metal, which for me has proved to be great to work out to. :D |
I usually steal songs from my friend's cd's that they burn me. I don't know much about bands and songs and stuff, I just kinda listen.
My ipod's filled with both metal/Japanese rock and upbeat techno (mostly foreign) Techno's my favorite to work out to. The upbeat pace and how it makes you (at least me) want to dance distracts you from the fact that you're working as fast as the pace. |
Okay, these songs never fail to make my booty move.
Now... the words might not be that great, but the beats is what really matters to me. Pitbull Ft. Lil Jon - Krazy Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) - Bob Sinclar Put Your Hands Up For Detroit - Fedde Le Grand Camille Jones Vs Fedde Le Grand - The Creeps Ida Corr vs Fedde Le Grand Let Me Think About It These three songs have pretty much the same beat to them, but they're different, and I like them all. Calabria-enur by Natasha Pitbull Ft Lil Jon - The Anthem Alex Gaudino feat. Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria Anywho, tell me how you like them! |
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Tinkerbell, ty!
I had a big workout today and realized that I only had a little over an hour of workout songs on my MP3. I jumped on 3FC and there everyone was with suggestions! I have a new one to suggest: Kevin Rudolf's Let it Rock. I has a great beat that is exactly timed to the fastest I can go on the elliptical. :D |
