Congratulations on that weight loss! I'm not so sure about the fake sugar, though. In my experience when I'm drinking a ton of diet soda is when I'm not losing weight, but I also managed to lose weight very quickly when I was drinking a smoothie flavored with Splenda a day. I think it comes down to moderation.

My favorite too-good-to-be-true dessert of an ice cream-y sort is No Sugar Added Fudgesicles, which are only 40 calories. They do have artificial sugar in them, but for a snack that takes about 15 minutes to eat, is utterly delicious and leaves me completely satisfied, I think it's a reasonable trade off.

wow what a positive attittude!! 16 pounds in one month is amazing. Congratulations!

I'm sitting here hoping it gets easier. I think once the first few pounds come off and I see some PROGRESS I wont feel like I'm already failing at this too.

Congrats on your progress!!! 16 lbs... That is awesome!!! I started on my journey again on Dec 7th. I've lost 9 lbs this month so I know that it works too.

That's wonderful!

I'm doing my best to stick to the diet- though today I went to a THAI place and got this "vegetable" entree and it was FULL of rice noodles- I ate half (cuz I had no more money to order something else) and then left the rest. Kind of miffed but I guess that was the best I could do.

I'm having a large salad for dinner tonight lol.

i can relate. i have been at this since dec. 22,08 and i feel soooo much better than before, so a little more than 2 weeks. the main thing i have noticed is that my energy level is much higher. i used to be ready to pass out at about 4 or 5pm, and now i feel like a normal person again because i can stay up longer, get more done, and in turn have a better attitude and be happier. because i have an 18 month old, the evenings used to drag on, but now i am able to keep with with my baby and do stuff that needs to be done around the house. it is an awesome feeling and i feel that this is my time and that I am truly ready to change my life. thank you all. this site really helps me to stay on track and stay motivated to do what i need to do.

I won't lie. It was HARD in the beginning. But somehow I stuck through it for once and now...it is like I have a new life. I feel amazing. My pants are loser. I can do 50 minutes on the elliptical at the gym without even bringing my HR over 140. My stomach "issues" are gone. My engagement ring even fits better. The hunger pains are gone. I got through a plateau and now the weight is flying off (for now). All this and I have only lost 16.6 lbs. Imagine how I will feel after 50...100...150!!! These thoughts are keeping me going...even though I have no urge to eat in excess....snip...

I'm so proud of you tc! When I read posts like yours I'm reminded of that song that goes, "It only takes a spark to get a fire burning"....and oh yea, you will not believe on how far you can go on that elliptical (or anything else in life for that matter) as you continue losing weight. The feeling is undescribable.
