Overweight, unhealthy people put whipped cream on fruit and...

OK, since we all have thoughts and ideas about what slender, healthy people do, let's see how we do with this! ;)

Of course I could have said "fat" instead of "overweight, unhealthy," but that's kind of a hot button...

Overweight, unhealthy people eat whole bags of chips while sitting at the computer.

Overweight, unhealthy people never say no to dessert, no matter what it is or what they've already eaten.

Overweight, unhealthy people eat until the point of pain.

Overweight, unhealthy people think they are getting exercise by watching a sport on TV while eating.

Care to add more to this obviously stereotypic thread?

Overweight, unhealthy people need constant reminders on what is healthy and not healthy to eat when they go on a "diet"

Overweight, unhealthy people are smelly.

It's okay for slim skinny people to say something rude about an overweight and unhealthy person right in front of you as long as they mention "oh but we don't mean you"

Mrs Snark 11-30-2008 12:01 PM

Overweight, unhealthy people can change. :)

JayEll 11-30-2008 12:10 PM

^^ :cheer2:

That is so awesome!!

I will add to the thread, but I'm not going to generalize. I'm going to say what *I* did as an overweight, unhealthy person.

When I was heavy and overweight, I always had to order the largest size of everything. Now that I am a healthier person, I always order the smallest size. I used to think that only a Venti Starbucks latte would satisfy me, but I'm now very happy with a Starbucks Tall! (the short is too small though, heh)

Overweight, unhealthy people know that feelings will be hurt if they refuse food.

Okay, I had to laugh at this one, as I AM sitting in front of my computer eating a whole bag of chips!

It is only a 16g bag (from Halloween) and I did plan for it, but it was still kind of funny. :D

Overweight, unhealthy people can't say no to anything! Food, people who take advantage of them or favors they don't want to do because they are "nice"

This is an obviously sarcastic thread right?

JayEll 11-30-2008 02:32 PM

Hey Anne!

I had in mind the 13-serving bag...

No, I don't think it's meant to be sarcastic. It's just sharing what each of us has realized we did before that we have or are changing. Or maybe have just realized we need to change.

CyndiM 11-30-2008 02:41 PM

I'm with Glory, I remember what I did!

Overweight, unhealthy me had no idea what a serving size was and assumed it was as much as I could pile on my plate or whatever was in the bag.

Overweight, unhealthy me thought instant mashed potatoes with gravy and cheese was a good lunch.

Overweight, unhealthy me was the excuse queen when it came to exercise.

Overweight, unhealthy me blamed it on genes, and big bones, and my thyroid.

Overweight, unhealthy me gorged in secret and tossed out the evidence.

Overweight, unhealthy me swore that everything that came from the Co-op was good for me.

Wow, good reminder!

JulieJ08 11-30-2008 03:02 PM

Overweight, unhealthy me skipped breakfast (when I wasn't having 3 Egg McMuffins).

Overweight, unhealthy me had fast food every day.

Overweight, unhealthy me strained her neck taking off sweaters and backing up the car.

Overweight, unhealthy me planned on starting tomorrow.

Overweight, unhealthy me thought ice cream for dessert came in dinner size soup bowls.

Overweight, unhealthy me drank 3-4 giant McD Cokes a day.

Overweight, unhealthy me stayed up late, and got up at the last minute before work. Therefore, overweight, unhealthy me was a slob.

Ookpik 11-30-2008 03:09 PM

Overweight, unhealthy me didn't care about myself...otherwise, I wouldn't be overweight and unhealthy!

Overweight, unhealthy me didn't have any other pleasures in life besides eating, so I ate whatever I wanted, how ever much I wanted.

Overweight, unhealthy me found exercise too hard, so I just didn't do it.

KendraLynn 11-30-2008 06:15 PM

Overweight, unhealthy me rarely turned on the lights in her apartment because the TV was always on.

Overweight, unhealthy me had mostly fast food bags and wrappers in her kitchen garbage (if they weren't just sitting on the counter).

Overweight, unhealthy me spent most of her time on the couch--not even sitting but laying.

Overweight, unhealthy me was seriously unhappy.

EZMONEY 11-30-2008 06:23 PM

I called nachos...breakfast!

SouthLake 11-30-2008 06:30 PM

Overweight, unhealthy me focused on "having time" instead of making time.

Overweight, unhealthy me never planned on meals, and thought fast food was easy.

Overweight, unhealthy me was convinced that fatty, crappy foods tasted good.

Overweight, unhealthy me was convinced that exercise would not be any fun.

JayEll 11-30-2008 06:40 PM

Overweight, unhealthy me ate whole containers of ice cream by myself without a second thought.

Overweight, unhealthy me didn't realize I was walking around carrying the equivalent of two large bags of dog kibble on my body, and yet I wondered why my feet hurt.

Overweight, unhealthy me thought that because I sometimes went for a walk a couple times around the track, I must be in pretty good shape.

Oh gosh. A trip down memory lane..........

There is SO much that overweight ME did totally wrong that caused me to be, well, umm, overweight. I'll give it a shot. Here's a few that comes to mind.

Overweight me - would buy 1/2 gallon of ice cream with the intention of eating the whole darn thing. Not in one sitting. But over the course of 2 days and sometimes managed to do so in ONE day.

Overweight me avoided the scale for close to 15 years.

Overweight me ate what I wanted when I wanted - and apparently overweight me wanted a heckuva lot.

Overweight me was incredibly sedentary and never did any formal exercise. Didn't do much unintentional exercise either.

Overweight me ate fried foods ALL the time. Ate full fat salad dressings. Never skimped on calories. Just kept on pouring more and more oil in the pot. The whole bit.

Overweight me always went back for seconds, usually thirds.

Overweight me ate very little in the way of veggies.

Overweight me didn't stop eating until I was stuffed and downright uncomfortable.

Overweight me never turned down dessert.

Overweight me always waited for a Monday to start her "diet". And usually didn't try very hard at all.

Overweight me didn't realize for over 20 years that there was a way out. Didn't realize that exercise was not the devil. Didn't realize that eating healthy is a joy, not a burden. Didn't realize that my body was a gift from G-d, meant to be nurtured, not abused.

All I can say is that overweight me is really glad to be history and oh so happy that slim/healthy ME has taken over. :)

I'm cross-posting because this is interesting and I'm not sure which thread it is more pertinent to ... probably neither it's just the difference between me and my son ...

We were watching a program on TV last evening about food addiction. In response to a woman's remark that she was unwilling to deprive herself of snickers because she likes them, my 26 y o son (5'10" 165 lbs) said something like ... Deprive? I like snickers too but not every day.

So I asked him the obvious question and NO he never thinks he deserves a candy bar. A cold beer is a mighty fine thing but deserve ??? he didn't think so.
I do think I deserve a treat. Inspite of the fact that it has no nutritional value and is doing nothing to improve my life or health ...
You know the old drill? ... intellectually I know ....
