Cracked up on halloween candy
Had a really bad day. Secretary brought in a pumpkin filled with candy. Before I knew it, I had eaten 5 of the snickers and 4 of the reeses. There I was with a pile of discarded chocolate wrappers, feeling worse so I punished myself with 1 liter of water and no supper.
Trick or treat my butt |
Halloween candy...yikes! I'm not sure I would be strong enough to resist either, it's my weakness. Maybe tomorrow, if you think there's still going to be candy around, bring your own sweets, like 100 calorie pack cookies or sugar free drops.
|
I feel your pain... heaven forbid someone decides to bring a big bag of candy to my work. My best defense is to just not start. Once I have one morsel, I can't resist a few more!
|
Ugh! I had the same kind of day. I ate six resees so I'm working out hard core. I just went for a walk and after my son goes to bed I plan on 200 sit ups.

So what happens is that you "punish" yourself by not eating and then you're starving and then you start the cycle all over again. Quit "punishing" yourself. You're not a political prisoner eating bread and water. This isn't a crime for which you have to pay a penalty. You're so much better off eating a healthy meal and offsetting that wad of sugar you just consumed with some protein and veggies and fiber. If you're determined to "punish" yourself, then eat a veggie you don't like. But don't punish yourself by sabotaging yourself and throwing your healthy eating to the wolves. . |
Gosh, drinking water shouldn't be a punishment--it's good for you! And like other members have said, skipping dinner isn't a good idea. Perhaps having a smaller dinner--there are a number of Lean Cuisines, for example, that are under 300 calories or even 200 calories.
Now you know that you cannot have just one. I'm the same way. If I don't start, I'm good. Good luck! Jay |

Others have said it well...no punishing yourself.
We are coming in to a tough time of year with holiday treats. My co-workers have candy and snacks all over the place. I haven't touched them in ages! Today I brought in a treat for everyone....a big bowl of fresh fruit!!!! ;) |
I had a day like that yesterday, except it was with Halloween cakes and cookies. :( Someone brought in these pumpkin bars and I had 4 with whipped cream and crushed ginger snaps on top. THEN, there were Halloween cookies in the breakroom that I couldn't resist.
This is just the begining of the Holiday treat season here at the office and it's a HARD TIME. I just made a vow not to let it get the best of me. But you know, if you have a slip up day, don't beat yourself up for it. Just get back on track and it'll be fine. |
I agree with the others, don't punish yourself by depriving yourself of nutritious food. You punished yourself already with the sugar binge. One piece of candy is a treat, 9 is punishment. Why do you think you felt the need to OD on chocolate? Were you hungry? Tired, bothered, depressed? What made you keep reaching inside that candy filled pumpkin?

EXCELLENT! Barb. I bet it all gets eaten too. |
We got a free 175 pc mini chocolate bars from the grocery store. Everytime I walked into the kitchen I would think about them and want some sooo bad! One night I ate a handful of them and then forced my husband to take them to work. Out of sight out of mind.
I LOVE halloween candy!....mmmm.... |
I've been snacking on them for the past 4 days now...I'll have one here and there. I just had one at lunch and now I'm eating my apple as a snack...
I can't wait until they're out of my house on Friday...kiddies....PLEASE take them away!!! |
