Celebrating the little things (they're awesome too!)

I thought I'd try to start a non-weight related achievement thread.

What have you done/noticed lately that you need to celebrate?

I wrapped a towel around myself today! For a long time, I've been embarrassed that I couldn't wear a towel while I was getting ready, but today, I happened to notice, it fits around me! Woo!! :carrot:

What about you??

I played with my kids today at the park and didn't get anywhere near exhausted like i normally do !!

I tightened my belt another notch. :carrot: At first I thought I had it on the wrong hole then when I looked down, realized the usual one was too loose and I could move in one more.

I got into size 18 jeans. I was in a hurry and accidentally grabbed the wrong ones. I didn't notice they weren't my size 20s until later.

I'm also throwing away my ratty underwear in favor of new ones.

I'll be doing this soon, I can't wait! It's going to be one of my little rewards. The old ratty ones, the ones with the bad elastic, the uncomfortable ones that my butt eats every time I put them on. ;)

I was bustling with SUCH energy today, after going for a run this morning and fueling myself with good fuel, that I accomplished SO many things on my to-do list. Haven't had such a fabulously productive day in a while.

congrats, everyone! Sometimes, its easy to forget just how great these things feel

Kelly, that's awesome! I remember the first time I noticed that I could wrap a towel all the way around... such a great feeling!

My most recent little victory was being able to comfortable zip the hoodie I bought a month ago, which at the time was quite snug. Fits perfectly now!

Today, although I didn't stick to my plan 100%, I was within 100 calories of my target calorie range and I didn't binge... I'm very proud of myself.

I was at Souplantation (all-you-can-eat type place) today - and had no desire whatsoever for their junky soft serve ice cream. No will power needed ;).

I could only eat 1/2 of a dark chocolate bar. It was 1.5 servings, but still...a few months ago the whole thing would have been *poof*!

My middle finger and thumb touch when I circle them around my wrist.

I need a second ring to keep my wedding ring on (I did this when we got married and now I can use it again!).
:D

I just tried this as I was reading your post and I can do it too!!! It even overlaps the very slightest bit!

The jeans that I consider to be my "skinny days" jeans are slightly baggy on me now. Also, I can curl up so much better into the recliner in the tv room now than just a couple weeks ago.

Oh I remember posting a thread like this when I first started posting here. There are so many little things that I enjoy ... I hope I always remember them.

Being able to cross my legs
Being able to wrap a regular sized bath towel around myself
Being able to see my collarbones
Being able to bend/squat down to pick something up w/out my knees popping
Buckling the seatbelt on the airplane and having a "tail" of belt left over
Being able to run up the stairs (even several times) w/out being out of breath

.

i got into a size 8 jumper....

ronni62 10-20-2008 07:17 AM

Love this kind of thread!

After years of wearing pants sized 26, 28, and 30 with elastic waists only, yesterday I wore jeans, size 24 with a regular waist (no elastic!) to church! Haven't been in a 24 without elastic waist in about 17 years!

Also, my shoes were loose on my feet and they're practically new (not stretched out)!

And.....my shirt did NOT gap at my waist and hips when I sat down:D

I even think I'm starting to see my cheekbones, too:lol:
