What a day!!! This will be short, as my computer can't decide if it's going to let me stay online very long:?: We have some severe storms moving into the area, so maybe that is the problem.

Anyway, it's nice to be able to come here to refresh my energies!!! :) Just wanted to let you all know, I DID walk away from the dessert today! I didn't do quite so well with the water today, but I only have 2 more glasses to go to have my 8 glasses in today, I'm sure I'll make it.

I'm pretty tired this evening, so ladies....I will check in on all of you in the morning!!!

Theresa

I raked for an hour and a half and then found out one of my nieces was missing. Schitzoid SIL so I tried to ask the right questions and figure out where my niece was.

Turns out she was locked in the high school for 3 hours.... The school doesn't allow the kids to make long distance phone calls, which calling home is, so she just waited. My brother is ready to pound on someone at the school. Now, granted, my niece was the yo yo that missed the bus but still, there should be some way for a kid to call home!!!! Sometimes.....

Anyway, I have a bridal shower in the morning so it's off to bed...keep posting....we want 2Cute to be proud!!!!!

Hi,

It's the weekend. Yippee. I have nothing planned this weekend. I'm going to sit back and relax. May be read a little. Spend some time outside. I may go to the movie, Murder by Numbers. We'll see.

Michelle, thank you for the hints on terminating aphids. My roses are shooting up and I see the leaves have bites in it.

Kat and Theresa, my patrick pillow is the best. His eyes are crossed, is sucking in his upper lip and jutting out his bottom lip. Hilarious. I need to pop in my spongebob tape and watch reruns.

Lucky, do you have a large garden? My garden is here and there. It's a battle with wind, heat, insects, and weeds. I set a chair out and hope to read a little outside.

Please post the "bonny" website address. Always looking for an interesting recipe.

R&R beckons,
Malia

Good Morning

Wow, talk about a change in temperatures here!! From the upper 80's the last couple days, and now it's raining and a little cold,,only in the 50's right now. It feels pretty good though. I'm sure glad those severe storms passed us! I'm a big chicken when it comes to storms!:o

I had planned on planting my small garden this weekend, and working in the yard, but looks like mother nature has other plans for me. My son wants to go bowling, and walk around the mall, so that sounds even better than what I wanted to do.

I thought I'd check in on everyone before he wakes up. Ohh the life of a teenager, to sleep in on the weekend. :) Even when I do try to sleep in, my eyes are wide open no later than 6 a.m.

Hope everyone has a GR8 Saturday!! This will be a challenge for me, to walk the mall and not stop for some of the fast junk food! I'm going to settle for the water, and be proud of myself for staying on track!!:)

I will check in on everyone later!
Theresa

Good Morning, Friends...

Happy Saturday! I'm sipping my coffee and reading your posts...:)I have already managed to clean the bathroom and get some laundry going. I have two azalea bushes to plant today and some yard work to do...no R&R for me...BUT...the good thing is, I don't have to be anywhere or take anyone anywhere, so I can go at my own pace, I like that!!;)

I started to switch clothes over in my closet last night...I've already gotten a BIG basket of clothes to donate and I've only done our closet and my dresser...haven't mustered up the courage to do the kids rooms yet or dh's dresser...I do get a little side tracked eith the TV on...I put it on to take my mind off the task at hand, but then I get involved in what's on...my daughter and I watched "Dead Poet's Society" with Robin Williams...so good...the two of us sobbing away at the end...then I was about to turn it off when I saw that "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" was coming on and just HAD to watch...with Steve Martin and all the old movies spliced in? So funny.

True to form, this week I had three EXCELLENT days of food, exercise, journalling, water...then...the day 4 crash and burn :o ...well, maybe not exactly "crash and burn," more like, "stumble and trip"...I couldn't get it together to prepare anything decent for myself, so I'd just grab any old thing...I think working these hours really has a lot to do with this...somedays I just can't think straight from lack of sleep and make poor choices...anyway...I'm feeling re-energized today and will get back on track...just gotta keep trying!

Well, I'm off for now...will definitely be checking in periodically during the day...we have gone from 90 degree days down to the 60's...Ahhhh...that's more like it! I turned the AC off and threw open the windows! The birdies are chirping and there's a lovely soft breeze...

have a great day, all! :smug:

Malia I am like you and have things here and there. I live on a farm so there is potential for TONS of flowers everywhere but I have only started.

Baylee WOW you are WAY ahead of me on your side of the state. The trees aren’t even budding, or are very little depending on the type. I am happy to find another gardener here because I need all the advise I can get. I find it amazing that Malia grows in Hawaii, the same flowers we do here.

Did you know the people Okinawa live the longest of anyone on the planet and one of their daily activities is working in the dirt…tilling, pulling weeds etc. They use it like a meditation.

I too have more trouble with drinking water when I am at home. I think some of it is because people stop by and we have coffee a lot (Scandinavian country here) or if it’s hot a beer. I do want to have cold green ice tea on hand. I am assuming you can have cold green ice tea…. I have only had it hot.

Kat What time will you be here to do my closets?

Mary I you went to Olive Garden I want a description of every bite you took. I love that place but the closest one is 2 ˝ hours away.

I have to go to a cousins bridal shower now. I didn’t know they did those in the mornings here but am glad because I will be able to get home and rake, haul, and shovel. I woke up 3 times last night from pain in my arms. I think it was because I was picking up and moving rocks last night.

Later…..

Hi there!

It's Saturday. 6:40 in the morning. Looks to be a beautiful, calm day on Maui. The sun's shining through my bedroom window which it does only this time of year. I'm setting out to walmart to look at the plant nursery.

Baylee, I could picture your yard. It'll be lovely in a week's time. I had to look up forsythia--we don't have that here. Maybe at a higher elevation.

I weighed/measured myself this morning. 241 lbs, 4 days counting. I gained an inch around my hips (could it be my butt is getting shapelier? doubt it) and my neck (could I be losing my wrestler neck?)

Gotta go to walmart. Have a nice day,
Malia

I made it back from my cousins shower....it was nice and she is so happy it is contagious. She is 36 and getting married for the first time.

Well, I will be outside doing what I usually do....

I know you all have heard this before but when I heard it today it struck me differently.
"Anything worth having is worth working hard for".
It struck me that this applies to losing weight and getting healthy so even though this journey is hard for us WE are worth it....I want to live to be a healthy 110 years old!!!!! (if I can survive all this raking  )

Later....

LuckyLadyBug 04-20-2002 06:22 PM

Well, it's now 5:17 and I just came in...even my little toe is tired.

I moved rocks, raked, hauled stuff, and moved some antique wroght iron stuff.

I have to go and rest...my body really hurts. Why do I keep forgetting that my body has aged even if my mind has all these ideas of what it wants done.:?:

I will check in later.....
