11lbs lost but i cant see a difference!

Hi guys :) I've lost 11lbs so far but i still cant see a difference in my body :(
None of my clothes feel that much looser either... i dont really know where the fat is coming off! Surely 11lbs is enough to notice a difference??
When did you all start to notice a difference in clothes etc..?
Hope you're all having a good week so far :D

Unfortunately, a lot of the first 10 pounds can be water weight. If I have a "bad" weekend, my weight can up eight or nine pounds. After having a few "good" days, it will drop seven or eight of them.

Are you exercising with your weight loss? Sometimes, exercise can provide a more immediate visual than dieting can.

Either way, even if you don't notice an immediate difference, 11 pounds is still a HUGE step towards your goal. Good job!

Schumeany 10-14-2008 03:36 PM

It often takes a while for our brains to catch up to the difference in our bodies. So while you may not see the difference -- 11 pounds off, especially for someone who does not really have that much to lose, is definitely a visible difference. Did you take any initial measurements? That can be really helpful as a visual -- you can see the differences in the inches right there on the tape measure.

Just keep it up...and good work!

I know how you feel . My loss is almost 20 pounds. I can feel a difference down my sides but my clothes don't fit any better.
It makes me sad but maybe one day we'll wake up a size smaller!

sh3l5 10-14-2008 03:39 PM

I tend to go by how clothes fit on monthly intervals....
despite loosing so much weight i still cant see the changes....

Smiling_Sara 10-14-2008 03:47 PM

I finally noticed when I was closing in on 50lbs lost.

Starrynight 10-14-2008 04:15 PM

hmm.. lol after the 160's.. I could tell after 2/3 pounds.. now I will literally wake up KNOWING I lost a pound and tell by my face or my collarbone or even my stomach, it's weird... I'll think it's in my head but it'll end up that I did lose a pound. 11 pounds for your weight should be enough to tell, as others have said, your brain might need to catch up. Sometimes I'll feel like I am huuge but there will be moments where I'll catch myself and realize how much smaller I've become, it's usually those unexpected moments when you're not looking at your body critically that you realize how much you've lost.

I've lost 12 lbs and I don't really see it, but I had to change my ring because it literally flew off my finger! The last time I lost weight I didn't notice that my boobs had gotten much smaller first (of course) because I was so focused on my pants size. I'm pear shaped, literally my top & bottom can be separated by 2 sizes, so if I lose from the top I ususally don't notice b/c I'm looking for results on the bottom.

Sgirl 10-14-2008 05:10 PM

Often it depends where on your body you've lost the weight before you can notice a difference in how your clothing feels. Maybe you have lost it off your face and collarbone area. Those areas would mean you most likely wouldn't feel it with your clothing.

bethbeth 10-14-2008 05:25 PM

Yeah, it's ok. One day you will look in the mirror and think, "Oh my goodness! I look so different!"

HotforTeacher80 10-14-2008 10:18 PM

I know it can be frustrating to put work and effort into something and not see a big difference. I carry my weight evenly so it takes at least 30 pounds before I am down a size and on the other hand I have a friend who can lose 10 pounds and drop a full size. It can frustrating but keep it up.

biolerchick 10-15-2008 10:03 PM

I understand how you feel. I have lost 9 lbs, and I just can't tell a difference. I don't look thinner in the mirror. My clothes aren't too big. And I'm just dying to get into the next size smaller clothes that are in my closet. One of the things that is helping me is to reward myself for actual things I've done rather than pounds I've lost. For example, when I get to 1000 minutes of exercise, I will buy myself a little George Foreman grill.

CatRocks 10-16-2008 05:39 AM

That is such a good idea! I'll think about what i can reward myself for and let you know... Might get my hair done or something if i stay on plan for the next week!

I started noticing a difference in the way my clothes fit at about 15-20lbs lost.

shelbysmom 10-16-2008 11:30 AM

me neither...so don't feel like the lone ranger!! I use to be in a 22 after my first child, but lost about 13 lbs and hot into a 20 now I'm down almost 20 lbs and still in a 20,and I do wonder what is it gonna take for me to go down a smaller size? Good Grief!!!! So yea I;m definitely in the boat with ya and I'm paddlin' hard!!!

RangerChic 10-16-2008 11:30 AM

Also, I think a lot of us (I know I do) have a misconstrued view of ourselves. By that, I mean I think I look "fat" no matter what it seems. So, it might be that as well.

SBD Sass 10-16-2008 11:43 AM

I didn't see any changes in myself until I got up to 23lbs. lost and got a big difference at 32lbs. lost. Don't get discouraged, keep going because it is working...afterall you lost 11lbs!

owlmonkey 10-16-2008 12:22 PM

I've lost about 15 lbs and I'm still in an 18, but they're looser-not uniformly looser, but a little looser. What I'm really noticing is my fingers being thinner and now my collarbone is more accentuated. I seem to lose from the upper part way faster than from the lower part.

I wish I lost weight like how you do. My bottom goes faster than the top. I have problem arms.

Oh I always have wings-it's the boobs that go first-the last time I lost weight my bra size went from a 46D to a 38B/C! I was kinda upset because I didn't mind being large-chested, it balanced the bottom! I'm very much a pear shaped goddess!

kestrel 10-16-2008 10:30 PM

Could you compare a current picture with one before you started losing weight? It's hard for me to see changes in myself in the mirror (in my case, hard to notice all the weight I had put on) but when I looked at pictures of myself I could really tell the difference.

Ditto! And also your clothes will start to feel looser too. Inches count as well as pounds too.

Katelyn 10-18-2008 07:18 PM

it takes time to notice a change because you see yourself everyday. Try measuring yourself that's what helped me notice a change.
